ice President Joe Biden told CBS New the U.S. did not apologize to Iran after the country released ten Navy sailors it had abducted on Tuesday night.

“When you have a problem with the boat, (do) you apologize the boat had a problem? No,” he explained. “And there was no looking for any apology. This was just standard nautical practice.”

The vice president explained that the “the Iranians picked up both boats — as we have picked up Iranian boats that needed to be rescued.” Iranian officials then “realized they were there in distress and said they would release them, and released them — like ordinary nations would do.”

He added that situations like the capture of the two U.S. Navy boats were exactly “why it’s important to have channels open” with the Middle East power. That sentiment was echoed by his Iranian counterpart, Javad Zarif, who tweeted Wednesday a message about the importance of diplomacy and “respect.”

I saw video this afternoon of the sailors apologizing. The Iranians really did it up with the sailors seated around a table of food and drink. Held a mic to their faces as they said how well they were being treated and apologized. Pure propaganda piece for Iran.

If there’d been something heavy close at hand, we wouldn’t have a tv right now.

It isn't the same video I saw this afternoon but I found this one which has a brief bit of what I saw.

The reporter does say it isn't known if the sailor apologized under duress. He certainly doesn't look at ease to me.

That photo is such a disgrace... and it is a picture of what obama has done to our country. Military do not give up their weapons and do not give up their ‘ship’. So I wonder who gave the order to do so. It had to come from a high position, for all of these men to do so. To know obama micromanages every detail of our lives, was he notified? and did he give the order to surrender quietly?.. considering he was about to go in front of the world on TV... probably.

That ONE man, with the power our country held so dear and gave to this poor excuse of a man... look at what he has done with that power... and he’s not finished! The world is in turmoil, Europe is being overrun with terrorism, the rest of the world is being taken over, mile by mile, by isis... rapes, murders, terror ... all because this one man has taken that power and turned it against the people and let the hell on earth reign all over the world. It used to be contained by the fact we were feared and respected.. not any more... and look at what is going on.

One man, unchecked... one man, allowed to unleash his anger on the world... And Washington does not care... everyone I hear reporting on any of this ... they do not have a clue as to what is right and how to do it. If they are not hurting.. then it’s okay. One day, it may hit Washington....

According to the video in your link, the Iranians put them back on the same boats and let them go back to their ship. Wasn't the original story that their boats drifted into Iran's water because of some sort of failure on BOTH boats? Also from your link:

In the same Iranian television interview, the sailor said, "The Iranian patrol boat came out when we were having engine issues and had weapons drawn, so we tried to talk to them until more boats came out and took us in."

So did the Iranians fix their engines? Nothing is adding up
