The cabbie accused of snubbing famed weatherman Al Roker has pleaded guilty to a service refusal violation and was fined $500, according to the city's Taxi and Limousine Commission.
Rahman faced heavy penalties plus a possible 30-day suspension after Roker complained on Twitter in November that a taxi snubbed him and his 13-year-old son for being black — in favor of a white fare a block away.
The driver also settled a refusal allegation in May for $200, according to the Taxi and Limousine Commission.
"This happens to folks of color every day," Roker said following the incident. "And while most cabbies do their job, there are those ignorant, racist ones who hurt the others."
Rahman has said that he didn't see Roker — and called the situation a mistake.

I’ve always liked Al Roker. He’s not one of those blacks who make race an issue, like Bryant Gumbel.
Maybe he didn’t recognize him and was playing it safe. $500 is peanuts compared to having a gun in your face.
Unfortunately Al Roker is being painted with the broad brush made possible by the ghetto and rap music culture. Too bad Roker doesn’t blame that culture for some of his problem.
