Everyone remember the USS Pueblo (spy ship) taken off the coast of North Korea in the 1960s? Our guys in captivity, and the ship wasn’t scuttled in time to prevent Korean review of our technology.
I suppose now, the Iranians will have two of our ships to go along with our drone they got.
Just checked Google Earth: it is over 200 miles from Bahrain to Kuwait. Helluva ways to go with an outboard RIB.
I’m hearing there was more to this story than what’s being reported.
Anyone got Navy contacts?
my heart is in my chest each time this happens
Thanks much for the link.
Secretary of State John Kerry, who has forged a personal relationship with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif through three years of nuclear negotiations, called Zarif immediately on learning of the incident, according to a senior U.S. official.
I’m sure the “deal” to get our sailors/boats back will be as advantageous to us as the Iran nuke ‘deal’.
One is home ported in Mayport, Fl. No other info at this time.
Navy landing craft (LCM’s if I recall) have a range of about 900 miles in calm seas. That is what I was told when I toured some amphibious ships in San Diego. The boat squadrons and landing craft are based across the bay in Coronado. I am sure there are some nervous Navy families today.
Imagine how will Iran act when they have nukes.
This moron will draw a line in the water
My “deal” would be the following: you want nukes, you may get them but not in the form you want them. Release them in 24 hours, unharmed with intact ships, or Teheran becomes a cinder.
Iran is like Mexico on steroids!
They probably didnt have bullets. If they did they almost certainly couldn’t shoot without clearance.
Hell dude, he has ALREADY been made a fool of by Iran in these past 8 months.
Calm down folks....John Kerry is on the phone with James Taylor.
I think they already did that when he agreed to give them $150 billion dollars.
Obama will be horrified when he reads in in the paper tomorrow.
Oh, not to worry. The bed-wetter-in-chief will be all over this.
