How many voters are pondering in the back of their minds whether Trump is the return of Old Hickory?

“Trump risks other people’s money. His list of failures is long and hard for everyone but him.”

We have a twenty trillion dollar debt and you are concerned that Trump lost some money, probably the first businessman to do so in world history?

Lucky Scot. Those bright white belts forming a St. Andrew's Cross over the British soldiers' breasts were an easy mark for Tennessee and Kentucky marksmen with their long rifles resting stable on the tops of those cotton bales.

Because they want the car. No one buys the salesman. Stupid people can be convinced that they need a car that they don’t want or need by a good salesman, but the people who invest in Trump’s projects aren’t the same people who are getting overwhelmed by the sales pitch at a Chevy dealership.

He has failures, but his successes make the investors want to take the risk. That’s how investing works in a free market.

No one buys the salesman.

It appears you are.

Trump has done nothing that he says he will do. To be fair, he hasn't had an opportunity, but you are just HOPING that he will do. Does the evidence support that idea? No. Trump has 50 years in a very public life. He has a history of bragging, and then failing. He has switched parties and political positions more than 3 times. On some issues more than that, and even within the last year.

In politics, you are always buying the salesman. Cruz has failed at everything he’s tried to do in the Senate. You guys love him for trying and refuse to see that he can’t deliver.

Back in the 1980s, I was serving on an SSBN and The Art of the Deal came out. I had no interest in business or finance, but it was a real hit among the crew and officers. Everyone was talking about it and saying that “this guy should be president after Reagan leaves office”. I finally broke down and read the book and was amazed. Using what I learned, I started making good deals when I bought cars.

You hate him for the negatives. I accept that. I like him for the consistency of his message of making the good deal and getting something for your efforts. The US stopped trying to win when we became the lone superpower. It’s some kind of guilt thing. I guess we are ashamed to flex our economic muscle so we always lose.

I don’t know what you think Cruz can do in the WH, but if we don’t start winning at negotiations, then we will lose everything. Cruz is a debater. Trump is a negotiator and deal maker. The two skills are not the same and do not produce the same results. A debater needs someone that is willing to debate. The Progressives will not debate. They’ll demagogue you all day, but will not engage in the debate the Cruz needs to excel. But, they can be forced to deal and that is where we need a negotiator who likes to WIN the negotatiation. Our current Republican leaders just want to END the negotatiation, so they’ll accept anything to move on.

Can you understand the differences?

"I read this 4 times, and I still have no idea what this is supposed to be about either."

"How many voters are pondering in the back of their minds whether Trump is the return of Old Hickory?"

About as many as the people who aren't allowing obsessions with Bubba's pee-pee to distract them from the important Hillary question, who's going to be running things while her head is on a stick and her brain is in a bell jar in the Oval Office?

The Andy Jackson comparison is because he's probably the last President who didn't give a Rat's Fat Fanny about anything other than serving America. Abe Lincoln had been about serving the Railroads when he was an attorney. JFK was about serving himself up at the Cutie Cafeteria. (I wish the new X-Files would do a sci-fi with Judith Campbell Exner--if Oswald wasn't a random whacko, the best bet is that Jack got his member caught in the wringer for fooling around with Sam Giancana's girldfriend after Daddy Joe had connected with his made buddies in the Chicago mob to ensure Jack won Illinois. Vote early, vote often.)

The British at New Orleans lost more than 2,000 of 10,000 men. The Americans lost 71.

When Trump was Generalissimo at the New York Military Academy, he spent his time in his room, presumably looking at Playboy, while another cadet was being hazed by a sergeant under Trump's command. He was relieved of duty.

You're not electing the CEO of a multi-billion dollar corporation. You're electing the President of the sole remaining superpower, that can still lick China with one hand tied behind its back, with a military larger than the next 10 militaries combined, and a Navy larger than the next 13.

Well said. This is a junk article written by someone who hasn’t done his homework.

I think the Jackson comparison was to Jackson and Trump being outsiders, and people who upended the system from outside the system.
