They can have their little day in the sun if Cruz wins Iowa, but it will hardly matter a week later in NH.
Cruz polls better head to head against Hillary than Trump, so he is actually more electable. While Trump has solidified a strong and significant base, he has also alienated the followers of the candidates that have been the target of his insults. When these other candidates drop out, expect to see Cruz pick up a lion’s share of their votes.
For the still relatively green senator, itâs a rise to supremacy with the swiftness and sureness to rival that of another rookie who found himself sweeping into the White House: Barack Obama. Party on, Ted.
He is right. Trump knows it.
This may be the week talk radio starts calling out Trump on his lack of knowledge and ill temperament - he is exactly like Bambi but worse - trashing media and all who fail to kiss his butt.
There is a high chance Ted will take him out Thursday night with a clean knock out.
He’s getting Paul’s Carson’s and Rubio’s but won’t get Trump’s?
Cruz's lead in Iowa matters. That can create momentum for New Hampshire, South Carolina, etc... Cruz's "lead" in California is irrelevant. The primary isn't until June 7. If things go as they are polling right now, Trump could have the nomination locked up by then.
Cruz isnât the second choice of Trump voters

I think SC will be more decisive than Iowa or NH. But I think a win by Sen. Cruz in Iowa may very well put SC in his pocket, even if trump wins NH, unless trump wins NH in a complete blowout. trump is a victim of being the frontrunner so long, and hogging all the oxygen of the media so long, that a loss in Iowa followed by less than a blowout in NH could be almost fatal to his campaign. All that the ordinary voter has heard is trump, trump, trump. I’ve seen many articles where Sen. Cruz gets little or no mention even though he is second in most state polls. If Sen. Cruz wins in Iowa, it’ll be a big surprise to the large number of voters not paying attention.
If and when Cruz wins Iowa it will change voters minds in the subsequent states.

Hillary will beat him like a drum in the debates, if Cruz is the nominee, which is doubtful.
Trump can beat Hillary in the debates, or any other Dem. And he can beat her in the general!
No it won’t; keep on dreaming.
You need to get out of that bubble you live in and take a long hard look at reality.
And Trump has White voters in both parties who don't give a sh*t about that term anymore.
Yeah, it didn’t work for Jimmy Carter, Obama or Dubya. Oh, wait, yes it did...

OTOH, Ted will NEVER get the black, DEM, or Hispanic TRUMP voters and just as some Cruz supporters claim that they'll never vote for Trump, under any circumstances, there are some Trump supporters who feel the same way about Cruz.
I kind of agree with 2ndDivisionVet here. Iowa can create momentum for candidates in New Hampshire and South Carolina. However, it can also do nothing.
It will be interesting to see what the effect is here where to those of us that don’t follow politics on a daily basis, there’s some sort of invincibility to Trump. If he loses the Iowa caucuses, it could be a case where all bets are off for New Hampshire/South Carolina.
Then again, it might not matter very much like with Santorum, etc.
Yes...that’s FREEPERS; go out into the REAL WORLD and you’ll find something completely different! All you have to do is listen to talk radio, read a bunch of newspapers, and talk to people in the RW. :-)
