Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump pledged to "tax Wall Street" as he sought to use a severe stock market selloff to plant new seeds of fear among voters during a campaign rally Saturday in Iowa.

At times, the real estate mogul sounded more like Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders, a constant critic of Wall Street, than a billionaire candidate running for the Republican presidential nomination.

"There's a bubble," Trump told his audience in Ottumwa, southeastern Iowa, noting the nation's high level of debt. "You see the stock market is starting to, you know, see what's going on," he said. "It's starting to have some very bad weeks and some very bad numbers."

...but at the same time I'm not going to let Wall Street get away with murder. Wall Street has caused tremendous problems for us. We're going to tax Wall Street."

Trump doesn't understand Wall Street isn't the problem, a bought and paid Congress is that Wall Street takes advantage of to enrich themselves ?

I really wish he would expound on what "tax Wall Street" means

Add taxes? remove tax breaks from existing laws ?

Wall Street is already taxed...

Maybe this is why the Cruz supporters have been chimpin out so crazy lately. The big money men behind him must be flippin out. He’s said he was going after the hedge fund guys (like Mercer) all along. Some kinda deal about them not paying taxes.

I thought so, but couldn’t remember the specifics so I didn’t go there. Thanks for helping. I appreciate it.

How does taxing Wall Street help anyone? Perhaps he should tax Real Estate investors first.

Pray America wakes

And he is cheered on by his FR Hallelujah Choir ... ?

Is this Donald's "Read My Lips" ... no more taxes?

LOL I posted this story to twitter and was almost immediately added to the Occupy Wall Street list.

They aren’t going to keep me for long.

And he is going to use his magic pen for taxes also? I think not. He thinks he will be king or that we are stupid. He probably thinks both.

Finally, the real Donald Trump shows himself. Once a far left loon, always a far left loon. Bernie Sanders may have found his running mate.

Tax Wall Street? He once advocated a confiscatory tax on the rich and said he was okay nationalizing banks and nationalizing healthcare. Taxing Wall Street fits right in there with all those other nonsensical Occupy Wall Street mantras.

No thanks.

Trump is severely uninformed. He couldn’t pass a civics class.
Of course that doesn’t matter to trumpees.

Here is a comment from the thread that may give you some relief. Trump has discussed that Wall Street’s hedge fund guys have bought themselves a bunch of loopholes and don’t pay taxes. Corporate welfare is flourishing on Wall Street.

Trump is talking about simplifying the tax code and getting rid of a lot of loop holes (corporate welfare). At the same time, he’s talking about reducing the tax rate on corporations so America is more competitive with other Nations.

So it might sound socialist when he talks about ending corporate welfare carved out by crooked politicians and their pacs, but it is not socialist to reduce corporate tax rates.

I agree with Trump that corporations have bought themselves all kinds of welfare and influence that don’t help the Nation in trade, culture nor employment of Americans. The global elite are corrupt socially and economically. I’m glad Trump knows about this because I am sick and tired of “citizen of the world” billionaires owning the country via our politicians. The Establishment and their minions can have a cow.

Donald, the TAX MAN COMETH.

Hold on to your wallet when a politician talks taxes. In this case your IRA 401K or your Pension.
