Trump started this several months ago. That’s why they asked him the question now, because of his past comments.
Of course, Trump had forgotten his other earlier statement in which he said he had looked into it and was absolutely sure Cruz was eligible.
He had to retreat to his original position because Cruz was leading in Iowa.
No amount of insults or bravado will change the fact that Cruz is not a natural born citizen. He may eventually prove that he is an American citizen by virtue of his mother but that’s the best he can do.
Oh, you think Trump will accept this and get on to another important topic, like how much money he has?

What Cruz supporters sometimes post as sarcasm could be taken as straight up serious by certain Trump supporters. It's kind of a guessing game. Unless you spend way too much time here - like me.

Since it takes 2 to make a baby, BOTH are required to be US citizens; only one wouldn’t cut it for the Founders and Federalists that wrote the Constitution.
