The thing is that if we can’t get on the same page here, how can we possibly take the message to anyone? We can’t speak with any authority, for lack of a better way to put it, when we are a conflicted mess ourselves.
Thats what frustrates me to no end. We;re all supposed to be conservatives working toward advancing conservatism. Look at the Trump/Cruz threads. Look at the old Palin war threads. Look at how people adopted lesser evil and the world that resulted.
Conservatism isn’t a black art with some high priest/keeper of the secret truth. We all know what it is supposed to be. the rules havent changed. “WE” changed. We want conservatism to be whatever gives us a fuzzy that election cycle.
I know full well I piss off most of FR. It’s not what I set out to do intentionally but I realize I will. Because I believe in something and I stand on it. Most of the time the blowback is from people saying ‘Yea you’re right but now is not the time and we gotta do X first.
But there never seems to be a right time. We have to MAKE that time. Reagan made that time. Washington made that time. If we keep kicking the can we are moderates at best.
It has to stop. We are conservatives who believe our own words or we don’t. And I just do not see where that logic breaks down.
Keep pissing them off then Norm.
This place wouldn’t be the same without it. LOL
Oh I’ll ride lightning eventually. I don’t plan on courting it intentionally, but it’ll happen.
