Anyone on the not Democrat side and not named Romney was more conservative and more principled. So yes.

TRANSLATION: The only person HIPAA prohibits from perusing your medical records is YOU.

“Can someone please explain to me how the president of the United States can shield individual doctors from civil suits arising from unauthorized HIPAA disclosures?”

Because the only federal laws are controlled by people who report to the Prez.

Most states (47) have some data privacy laws but those are much weaker.

I was always aware that HIPAA was much more of a farce than it has been made out to be. Mostly it is used as a club to keep inquiries from persons who are “not in the direct line of relationships” from finding out about the state of health of a friend or a relative beyond a certain degree of relationship.

HIPAA was used as a reason to adopt first, “civil unions”, then “same-sex marriages”, so that life partners could be allowed to make medical decisions in the event (rare, but plausible) the other life partner was incapacitated.

“Privacy” as a legal concept, is and has been, sort of a “dead letter” for years.

The key to this order is “the lack of mental capacity to manage their own affairs.”

Anyone who has given power of attorney on financial matters cannot have a gun.
This takes 2nd amendment protection away without any judicial process.

Your attorney draws up the paper to have your daughter sign checks for you or manage a living trust, you loose your firearms.

The crying b@stard is pure evil. Resist we much...

So the criteria listed is the same criteria as a 5150 in California,,which is a TEMPORARY hold placed on someone due to their danger to self, others or being gravely disabled to the point of not being able to care for themselves.

That’s going to include a whole lotta people!

This a slippery slope -

If HIPAA can be modified for a gun purchase, then maybe we should also include automobile purchases, or even the eligibility to hold public office.

I have a bit of experience with this.

If you have a mentally ill person in your family who you are trying to help, you find yourself slamming smack into the brick wall of HIPAA because that person’s doctors and caregivers are not allowed to discuss even the most basic bits of information with them. (including the family’s observations during the 166 hours per week that they are NOT in therapy).

Because....and here’s a flash...crazy people WON’T SIGN A RELEASE!

Yet now that same info that you’re not allowed to have will apparently be fed in real-time into databases at the National Background Check Registry. It’s outrageous!

The key to this order is “the lack of mental capacity to manage their own affairs.”

Exactly! What if they can manage their own affairs while on prescribed medication? Is that good enough?

If not,,diabetics better watch out! Asthmatics too!

>>Anyone on the not Democrat side and not named Romney was more conservative and more principled. So yes.

And they were picked off one by one for not being PERFECT by people who wanted the PERFECT candidate to announce that she was running. She never did and when she finally admitted it, we were down to Romney and Newt. Then Newt crumbled and Romney was all that was left.

Our desire for PERFECT is destroying us because we want someone to throw the Hail Mary pass that will erase 50 years of Democrat gains, that they were willing to make inch by inch.

HIPAA Has more restrictions on when the patient can access their records than when the govt can.

Ok, all this affects only FUTURE gun buyers and sellers, right? Unless there’s a hidden clause included such as was done in ObamaCare. So what about the borderline or full-load loonies who already have guns and don’t have a medical history of mental illness (because they don’t go to a doctor), and don’t (yet) have criminal records? Will the feds start a door to door inspection and confiscation? You betcha. As soon as the public and the few democrats with “big, fat brains” realize that this ain’t workin’, Barky.

Seems to me that reporting anyone as mentally ill or incompetent is “diagnostic”.

Actually no. They were picked off by people that put their selfishness and pride over their country and their stated but not followed principles. And they are doing it again. They said it then and now alike. Winning no matter what. Words mean things. They only wanted to win. They did not gave the slightest damn about what they won with as their many, many repeatings of ‘no matter what’ prove beyond arguing.

If a candidate cannot hit 80% and be solid on the big issues, they should not be supported. Nor should we support candidates that back liberalism. They did not support those guys. They fought and fought until they got the liberal they truly wanted. History is what it is. Thats what happened. And many still scream bloody murder rather than own up to it.

The ATF has been scanning and digitizing ALL firearm purchase records for decades.
The USA has a gun registry, and I have no doubt it will be used when the SHTF.
