How to determine NBC status as per U.S. Department of State:

For persons born between December 24, 1952 and November 14, 1986, a person is a U.S. citizen if all of the following are true:

1. The person’s parents were married at the time of birth
2. One of the person’s parents was a U.S. citizen when the person was born
3. The citizen parent lived at least ten years in the United States before the child’s birth;
4. A minimum of 5 of these 10 years in the United States were after the citizen parent’s 14th birthday.

The phrase "acquires U.S. citizenship" indicates citizenship via statute. An 'anchor baby' or 'war bride' are in the same boat -- not an NBC. A natural born citizen does not "acquire" citizenship by statute, as a natural born's citizenship is unquestionable (hence the term "natural born"). You've identified the means by which citizenship is granted to some who are in doubt. But where natural born citizens are concerned, there is no doubt. The meaning of the phrase "natural born citizen" cannot be altered from the understanding of the Framers' use of it without amendment to the Constitution or (perhaps) specific findings of the Supreme Court. Neither of which has occurred.

But, like I said. I'm okay with it. Obama isn't an NBC and the leftists foisted him upon us twice. It seems only fitting that we return the favor and rub their noses in the Constitutional patriot goodness that is Ted Cruz. Maybe I'm vindictive; maybe I'm a Cruz fan; probably I'm both.

Section 1 of Article Two of the United States Constitution sets forth the eligibility requirements for serving as president of the United States, under clause 5:
*No Person except a natural born Citizen,*
*or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution,*
shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
The Twelfth Amendment states, “No person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.” The Fourteenth Amendment does not use the phrase natural-born citizen. It does provide, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

So you’re saying the Constitution is a `living, breathing’ instrument, as the Democrats believe?
That’s what Obama believes too: ‘The law is whatever I say it is ... ‘

This isn’t a complicated matter. It wasn’t complicated seven years ago.
Try not to rationalize and don’t make up your mind as a Trump or Cruz supporter. And you don’t need to `overthink’ the matter. It’s right there in black-and-white. Black letter, primary law. Them come to a conclusion as a good American who can read and think for yourself.
There was a reason the founding fathers made it plain that they qualifying eligibility for both offices to either natural born citizens or a citizen of the US at the time of the adoption of the Constitution.
Finally, it makes a distinction between a citizen of the US and a natural born citizen. There’s no need to add or subtract.

Absolutely not. Just the opposite, in fact. To re-interpret 'natural born citizen' beyond what the Framers understood it to be, would be to treat the Constitution as a living breathing instrument. I look at it frozen in time. I refuse to do otherwise; that's rather the point.

This is important. Why should we scrupulously adhere to the letter of the Constitution?

Have you ever seen or heard of an American president (before Obama0 actually kow-towing to a foreign power—practically touch his forehead to the floor while obsequiously bowing?
Or seem to intentionally wish to bankrupt the treasury by profligate, nonsensical spending?
or taunt his fellow Americans/
Or lie about wanting “bring us together” and then fanning the fans of racial animosity?
Or intentionally corrupt and degrade our armed forces?
Or neglect his duties to secure the states from invasion, actually suing states that try to protect themselves and flooding us with more illegal immigrants?
Or refuse to carry out the oath he took to defend the Constitution?

We could do this all night, but I think you get the point: they didn’t want us saddled with someone like Barack Hussein Obama.

There are only two offices with this eligibility requirement in America: a natural born citizen is someone born in the United States of parents who are both born in the united States.
Re-think the matter and win the argument—you go away tonight with something you did not have, while those of us who who knew this already leave with what we already had.

These are the rules for citizenship, not Natural Born Citizenship.

No one is claiming that Cruz is not a U.S. citizen.
