I’m curious how many other governors will join in. Each state already has a number of its own laws that infringe gun rights.
But to put this in perspective, [just a hypothetical] machine guns are technically ‘arms’ born to defend citizens against tyranny. Yet, I am glad that machine guns are highly regulated. And so are most US citizens glad that machine guns are highly regulated.
Which means?
Progressives have perverted constitutional interpretation.
Progressives trained congress to legislate constitutional amendments. They thought that amendments were too much of a hassle. It was an easy shortcut, and now we have anarchy.
The second amendment, interpreted properly, means Joe Schmoe can have an Abrams in his garage.
So far there has been one murder with an NFA full auto weapon. Pretty low number for the number of full auto weapons out there.
It’s not a problem and the regulation of these weapons should end.
“Yet, I am glad that machine guns are highly regulated. And so are most US citizens glad that machine guns are highly regulated.”
I’m not glad at all.
L
“Progressives” know full well there are already copious laws against guns, racism, despoiling the environment, all their “causes.” They just make believe there aren’t so they can keep the agitation going.
They’ve been trying since Obama was inaugurated to turn the clock back to the ‘60s and ‘70s, as if nothing had happened in the interim. The “why” is obvious, the “grievance industry” had fallen on hard times, and all those in that line of work wanted their fat paydays back. Agitating and roiling up the country is the way they make their bucks.
They’re shameless and evil.
I’m not glad the NFA was passed, and I’m not happy about the Hughes Amendment.
The argument for regulating full automatic weapons is as void as is the argument for regulating any other small arms. Free, law-abiding people should not be prevented from owning small arms.
Israel and Switzerland do not restrict people from owning full-automatic weapons and they’re doing fine.
Speak for yourself. Do not presume to speak for others.
I am outraged and disgusted that standard military arms are "highly regulated", as you so delicately put it.
It is long past time to
1) Repeal the National Firearms Act.
2) Repeal the Gun Control Act.
3) Repeal the Hughes Amendment.
A Supreme Court that was not compromised and disloyal to the Constitution would long since have struck down these unconstitutional acts of Congress. A Congress that was not compromised and disloyal to the Constitution would long since have repealed them. A President that was not compromised and disloyal to the Constitution would long since have refused to enforce them.
"... shall not be infringed."
It's not rocket science.
