A Mississippi councilman has sparked controversy after calling for dramatic action against police.
Kenneth Stokes, a councilman in Jackson Ward, says he wants his constituents to send a message to police officers from other jurisdictions who chase misdemeanor suspects through their territory.
"What I suggest is we get the black leadership together, and as these jurisdictions come into Jackson we throw rocks and bricks and bottles at them. That will send a message we don't want you in here," he said, reported WLBT.
Stokes also said he's looking into suing police from other jurisdictions who enter Jackson Ward.

Incitement to riot. Which I believe is a crime in most of the states.
They sound like Palestinian wannabes. It’s time decent people started treating the throwing of rocks and brick as assault with a deadly weapon. I’m okay with shooting thugs who harm the innocent, even if they wear BLM thug gear.
Yes, build a wall around the place and let them fend for themselves.
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Maybe the locals should (and I believe this) fling bricks and things at their elected officials.

That’s silly. If there is a chase on, we just KNOW the pursued hasn’t done anything wrong and the cops are just following orders to kill innocent choir members. I found that kinda weird too. Does the person being pursued have a sign that states “I only have a misdemeanor violation!”?
I’ve never heard of Jackson Ward, Mississippi. Google found a Jackson Ward in Richmond, VA, but that isn’t close enough.
Of course, nobody should ever throw rocks and bricks at corrupt demagogue politicians.
As a lawyer, Stokes knows that he has committed a serious felony by inciting violence against the police. As a black man, he knows that he can get away with it. This is the new political reality, and it is not going to end well.
Seriously, there should be some sort of law that when public officials make statements as stupidly irresponsible and potentially inflammable as what Stokes said, they should be taken out into a public square and have their posteriors literally kicked hard and often.
