News came this past week that the former Florida governor was canceling $3 million in TV ad buys in the crucial early-voting states of Iowa and South Carolina, a concession to financial and political reality that has been a long time coming.
Bush aides may have hoped to bury the news by dropping it during a holiday week when people are paying little attention to politics. And they sought to spin it in the best possible light: The campaign would be sending 50 more staffers into the four states with the first contests to beef up its already strong on-the-ground presence! And Right to Rise, the Bush-aligned super PAC, would continue to spend heavily in Iowa and South Carolina!
Here's the thing: Right to Rise has already spent north of $50 million on ads aimed at bolstering Bush and slowing his opponents. So far, the strategy hasn't worked.

This has stopped being a campaign and become a carcass the GOPe consultants can feed off until they can figure out their next gig.

Couldn’t happen to a more joyful tortoise.
Did you know he’s campaigning with joy in his heart?
Too bad for the citizens of the United States that the joy in heart is for illegal aliens. (citizens of other countries illegally in our country, for those of you in Rio Linda)
He said he didn’t need us.

I’d like to think that I’d be able to get more fun out 50 million bucks than Jeb has.
To: Vince Ferrer
Cruz is right. The primary will be over in March because Jeb is almost out of money and will be completely out of cash before Super Tuesday. It’s going to be a showdown between Cruz and Trump.

i have to suggest this (because he would probably win)
but Jeb should run for the Democratic party nomination.
most of his positions sound like he’s a D....he’d fit right in there....
and
the D party desperately needs a better candidate than the old battle-axe

If Cruz or Trump wins, where does the GOPe consultant class go to charge exorbitant consulting fees for their unneeded and ineffective advice? They are sure aren't fighting for Jeb. They are fighting for their six bedroom homes with the swimming pools right outside D.C.

Hard to polish a turd. Easy: all you have to do is pick it up by the clean end.

As tight as the Bushes & Clintons seem to be, Jeb ought to lobby Hilly for the VP slot - he might just get it. (?/sarc)
