Of all the ill-considered tropes that are trotted out in anger during our ongoing debate over gun control, perhaps the most irritating is the claim that the Constitution may indeed protect firearms, but it says “nothing at all about bullets.†On its face, this is flatly incorrect. Quite deliberately, the Bill of Rights is worded so as to shield categories and not specifics, which is why the First Amendment protects the “press†and not “inkâ€; why the Fourth covers “papers†and “effects†instead of listing every item that might be worn about one’s person; and why the Fifth insists broadly that one may not be deprived of “life, liberty, or property†and leaves the language there. The “right of the people†that is mentioned in the Second Amendment is not “to keep and bear guns†or “to keep and bear ammunition†but “to keep and bear arms,†which, per Black’s Law Dictionary, was understood in the 18th century to include the “musket and bayonetâ€; “sabre, holster pistols, and carbineâ€; an array of “side armsâ€; and any accoutrements necessary for their operation.

Self-Defense.
To piss off liberals.
I don’t want A firearm.
I want ALL of them.
There are.
But...don’t want to attract the wrong kind of attention.

Wanting a firearm is neither irrational nor hateful. How about asking why anybody would want to force somebody who felt uncomfortable being involved in their wedding to participate by catering to it?

"Actually, statistics are not on your side even if you had a gun," Hudak told the stunned hearing. "Chances are that if you had had a gun, then he would have been able to get that from you and possibly use it against you."

I exhort you to read the article. The author is anything but a lefty and dismantles their antigun rhetoric here and elsewhere.
Yeah. Heck, even putting Stalin, Guevara, and Mao in there might be enough to get you in trouble in this country these days, given the high esteem they are held in by many, often the same people who characterize men like Robert E. Lee, George Washington or Thomas Jefferson as evil.
