A Virginia state senator has thrown down the gauntlet with Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe in a brewing battle over gun rights -- pushing to defund the governor’s armed bodyguards unless he revokes an order that banned firearms in most state buildings.
"It’s easy for someone who is surrounded by armed state policemen to tell someone else they can't carry a weapon to protect themselves," Republican state Sen. Charles W. Carrico Sr. told FoxNews.com.
"It’s just equal treatment, that’s all I’m saying."

The governor of Kansas (Brownback) makes a daily walk from the statehouse to a church across the street, and back. I’ve walked past him more than once, while he did this. He is all alone - not a bodyguard in sight.
So why does the Governor of Virginia need so much protection?

Gotta love that headline. Those mean old Republicans want to take away McAuliffe’s protection over a “dispute.” No, they want to make the governor live up to his alleged principles. If Virginians don’t need guns to defend themselves, then neither does he.
