In recent years, I’ve heard a mix of “Happy Holidays” and “Merry Christmas,” with the trend toward the latter since it was brought to the public’s attention in the past 15 years. Trump’s impact on that has been minimal.

Nine years sober this past 11/11 but thanks for asking. Free Republic, through a few people in recovery, was a vital thing in getting me going in the right direction. I am always happy to be able to acknowledge that.
We used to have a Recovery ping list, but it has gone dark. I miss it.

My remark was meant as a generic response to your unusual behavior last night, in your comments to *nopardons.
There you were on a political thread, a Rally thread for TRUMP, and you were out of place, seen baiting a poster with mind games on religion. It was all too weird.
I believe we were 150 replies deep on that thread having a great party, before the bored Cruz supporters trolled over. With nothing for an argument for their candidate, it was immediate that the snark against TRUMP supporters having such a good time, began.
How that thread descended into scriptural combat, I’m sure I don’t know, but it was unseemly and uncalled for.
You know we all do have our closet life experiences, and if it isn’t us, it’s someone we love very much, so all the best to you for the battles you’ve fought and lost, and won again. I’m very proud for you and for the recovery you have sustained.
The Recovery ping list is a magnificent idea. Sorry it went away. However, you have addressed actually nothing here, that is even remotely related to your surprisingly odd intrusions of last night’s thread. Sometimes, we have to do the hard stuff... like face it, and apologize.

BTW: I believe my opinion on some of those matters go against the grain, so I wanted to allow for reasoned disagreement. It isn’t a black and white issue... at least > IMO. There are valid counterpoints.

Did you see how he handled the M.E. Christians event when he got mad & ran away because of the booing? The guy has very little situational awareness on how to handle things like Trump can.
I didn’t see it or wasn’t as aware of it as I probably should have been.

I am not saying that what he says is wrong, just how he goes about it. I mean isn’t he smart enough too know just who is preaching to? One those gray areas as you mention in evaluating him.

It is nice to dream and I do also, but his arrogant attitude just goes so far....kind of like a gang member, he thinks that he is ten feet tall and bulletproof....and that he makes all the rules which others must comply with
That gets very filling very fast...I like Trump and will certainly vote for him if he is the nominee....but I don't think he will be. We need Bush, Christie, or Kasich.....these former governors, all very popular in their states, have the executive govenmental experience to handle the presidency. We sure as hell don't need another 1st term senator and I'm afraid that Trump, business minded as he is,is up to the task in these times of international chaos (caused by Obama).

Just think about it for a minute before running your mouth...Cruz and Rubio are both wonderful young men with brilliant futures...Cruz should be the next Chief Justice of the Supreme court. We are presently experiencing a president that was a nice young man, first term senator, who can hardly find his way around the block....we just don't need another one, from either party. Ex-governors have always been the best choices for president if they were successful in their terms as governor....all of our candidates were....Bush, probably the most successful.
Scott Walker was my choice and the pubbies were too stupid to back him....hr was a Democrat destroyer!!!...I still think that an ex-governor is the only way to go
