1) Trump is the ONLY GOP candidate who opposes big globalist trade deals.

2) Trump is the ONLY GOP candidate who has credibly opposed open borders (some others are currently deciding they were for them before they were against them).

THAT is what makes him the "anti-corporatist" candidate.

We have his word on it.

Considering his corporate welfare track record, do you really trust him?

Your one hit wonder note is getting old :(

It's hard to shake because there is truth to it. He has been on all sides of every issue. But this time you can trust him.

And oh yeah, billionaires are bad, except for Trump.

“Traditionally, the very rich in America, with a few exceptions, were extremely patriotic and truly believed in America first. However, in the 20th Century, especially post WWII, a lot of the very rich want to think of themselves as "internationalists" , with no country to which they are patriotic.”

This “metamorphosis” is thanks to our “business school's teachings.” Liberals stranglehold on the post-secondary education “system” has wrought the kind of “tycoons” that don't give a $hit about our country.

Very good article. Thanks for posting.

There’s no reason to assume Trump will change his reflexive endorsement of crony capitalism. If he has ever indicated he would I must have blinked and missed it.

Why do you think all billionaires are bad?

Do you suffer from wealth envy?

Citing a candidate's track record isn't an ad hominem fallacy when the issue is a candidate's future performance.

Can we trust Trump to act as a conservative in the future?

He has taken corporatist positions in the past.

Past performance is a good indicator of future performance.

Trump is likely to take corporatist positions in the future.

Why do you think all billionaires are bad?

Trump supporters often say that Cruz is owned by billionaires because they have donated to his campaign.

This must mean that billionaires are evil, since if they were benign, we would have nothing to fear from Cruz accepting donations from them.

Yet Trump supporters are not concerned by the fact that he IS a billionaire and supports a wide range of corporatist policies.

Donors own politicians.

Politicians do not own donors.

Trump is the ONLY candidate NOT owned by amnesty supporting donors.

Your point completely failed, again :(

Finally!

“Some sane Freepers. Thank you for this article.

I am deathly afraid of Trump as he actually diametrically opposed to Conservative values. He is as much of a proto-tyrant as Obama.

It frightens me that so many people here can€™t see right through him.”

And it frightens me how so many are willing to toss aside conservative principles for Trump. When I saw this article, I had a hunch Trump supporters would make the writer the issue while ignoring the points the article makes regarding Trump.

Still, if it wasn't for BHO and the so called ruling class, Trump would be were Linda Graham was in the polls

You are right.
My error in not making it clear that at least Perot was significantly more conservative than “The Don” Reality TV show mega-ego attention whore.
At any rate, the results will be the same as in any managed opposition campaign.
And adoring dupes will put into power the very authority they oppose.
Wait and see...

His supporters are hypnotized by his words and promises now. In times of anxiety, people will follow anyone who promises the future will be better if you just put them in charge and be willing to just trust them. We saw the same thing in 2008 with BHO. Many chose to ignore his past associates and words and assign to him what they wished at the moment. I hear from Trump supporters the same phrases I heard from BHO’s back in 2008. Look how that's turned out

The fact that he is leading the polls among conservatives is truly frightening.

Define conservative. I am a fiscal conservative, I think Trump will do better in this area than any other.

Once we cut off the money, the liberal social ideas will slowly die..........................

But you many be one that thinks we can legislate social values like the liberals. The only answer social conservatives have is more government. We are losing there. Lets try the fiscal end once.

We saw the same thing in 2008 with BHO.

I didn't think it could happen on a large scale with conservatives.

Will the barb wirepoint in or out on this fantasy wall?

By The way, a wall will not keep them out. They will just invent ladders. the only thing that will stop the flood of illegal immigration is to uphold the laws. The Democrats are bribing illegals over the border by giving them anchor babies, giving away our social security to them, giving them free medical care and free schools. The only thing left for us is taxes. Which they don’t have to pay.

Cruz is all about returning to enforcimg the law. Giving them a depotation notice instead of a welfare check! Gee, that would work.

The wall, the laws against illegal immigration, were built generations ago. The problem is the Democrats and the Republicans who are shipping illegals over the border illegally with funds illegally taken from our taxes.

I can out Trump trump by demanding that all illegal immigrants be tattoed wit a big x on their foreheads, then deported.

It is cheaper than a wall, and would also work, and is crass as hell.

But if you truly want illegal immigration to stop, just enforce the laws already on the books. Problem solved.

Someone who supported TARP, bailouts, stimulus, nationalized healthcare, nationalized banks...

Our ideas of being a fiscal conservative are obviously not the same. I view this as Trump’s weakest area.

As a wise man once stated, cast not your pearls of wisdom before swine. They will only trample them into the mud then turn on you and bite.

He needs something to rescind all of Obie’s EO’s.
