Thanks for this series, I’ve really enjoyed it.

It means something to me as my brother lives in Berlin, his wife grew up behind the Iron Curtain there, and her parents remember the airlift - albeit from the “wrong” sector.

To hear stories from the “other” (Soviet) side are always fascinating, especially when they tell of the wonder of the airlift. It’s a testament to humanity that the fall of the wall showed a coming together without prejudice.

Hearing that F (my brother’s wife) had to practice, in track and field, javalin, discus, shot putt and handgrenade was rather an eye-opener.

I’ve been to Tempelhof and the feeling of history there, with the knowledge of the achievements of the airmen and logistics, is truly humbling.
