CARSON CITY â The Nevada Bureau of Consumer Protection on Thursday filed a motion to halt the implementation of a new net metering rate for rooftop-solar customers while petitions seeking reconsideration or clarification of the controversial decision can be filed.
The petition filed with the Nevada Public Utilities Commission says that the order approved Tuesday appears to conflict with the desire of Gov. Brian Sandoval to allow the rooftop-solar industry to continue to create jobs while balancing the interests of nonsolar ratepayers.
"Major companies in the solar industry have stated the order could result in the loss of jobs numbering in the thousands," the petition signed by Consumer Advocate Eric Witkoski, says. "Such an outcome is not consistent with the Governor's stated objectives of SB374 or the governor's initiatives and focus to increase jobs and employment for Nevada residents."

Suckers!
After the government/public uitility cabal (with their “greenie” plants on corporate boards) finally succeeded in crashing the public power business, along comes solar and the ability to generate sufficient power on your rooftop to meet your own needs. Now the PU’s want to be paid for not doing what they were supposed to do, namely deliver to the consumer inexpensive electric power.
The one thing I have also notices that all the public service companies and agencies are doing, no matter the market conditions, they need more money for two things: Meeting additional government mandates and regulations and to shore up their salaries, benenfits and retirement plans.
SolarCity has suspended operations and is shutting down. Vivant has put their plans for expansion into NV on hold.
Real people are losing their jobs.
Ah well we can always burn more coal...
You forgot Elon Musk.
If government caused then problem, then the problem gets one hundred times worse when government tries to “fix” it.
