Being gay is a much bigger health threat. Should doctors ask about that?

(my position is ‘no’ to both...)

what is going to eventually happen is this- Doctors won’t legally be allowed to question patients about gun ownership HOWEVER, all the doc will have to do is say they suspect the person ‘may possibly pose a danger’ and refer/require that patient to see a psychiatrist if the person has ever had any kind of antidepressant, antipsychotic drugs, or been involved in domestic violence, or criminal activity of any kind

For instance, the kid who chewed his poptart into an “L” shape which very vaguely resembled a gun, will be forced to undergo psychiatric evaluation, and the psychiatrist will be allowed to ask whether the child or parents own a gun

Nope, no guns in my home. My home is in Heaven. I’m just a visitor here.

This is a big deal. The Court ruled that protecting the Second Amendment is a "compelling interest" of the government; that gun owners have a privacy right about gun ownership status; and that Doctors who tell patients that ownership of guns is a health risk are chilling Second Amendment rights.

I think this should also apply to states that require gun registration. It's none of their business if someone owns a gun. It is a right. Luckily I live in a state where none is required.

This is an ongoing challenge that I periodically discuss with my twin boys. No one has right to ask any of us if we have or do not have guns, how many, etc. And should any of us be asked, the answer is ‘none of your business’ and in the case of the boys, ‘ask my parents’ and to tell us who and how asked these types of questions. While ‘guns are dangerous’ has come up in school discussions, which I have countered with ‘lets go shooting’, so far none of us have been asked.

Their response was that they were required to under direction of the administration and didn't have a choice.

Your predicament is one many have faced, and it is obvious the answer is for use in a non-related, non-medical database. Nor is it difficult to imagine the agenda of any who would want such a database.
"Yes" = lst wave.
"None of your damned business (or silence) = 2d wave (unless other government records warrant lst wave placement).
"No" = 3rd wave.
There would be severe penalties for any discovered in the 2d or 3rd waves to be in possession of firearms.

The information is not required by duly enacted law, but by the heavy hand of government. The only "right" a doctor has in this regard is to place a "No guns allowed" sign at his entrance.

To those who say we will always have the 2d A:
The USSC is divided on the issue 5/4 and tips if O has another vacancy to fill.

Think back 30 or 40 years: did your town have Christmas decorations; did the stores display "Merry Christmas" signs and other such decorations; was Christmas music playing most of the time in shopping areas?

How easy was it for someone steal Christmas?

Answering “None of your @*! damned business” would be the most satisfying answer to give, but any answer besides “No” may put you on a list. In fact, your intransigence might earn a quicker ticket to the reeducation camps than a simple “Yes”. While I don’t generally advocate lying, I would make an exception for this scenario, if ever asked. Think of it as a tactical decision.

There are forces already waging a “cold” war against us. Eventually, it might become hot. No one faults a solder for wearing camouflage, do they? Answering “No” will camouflage your tactical resources.

Medicalizing is a time-tested soviet tactic. Eventually, anyone who disagrees with the State can be labeled sick or insane and sentenced to institutional “care” for indefinite periods. Labeling gun violence a disease was a big step in that direction. I recall past Surgeons General hoping to have the CDC include conservativism as a public health hazard.

Two additional options:

4) Complete silence; and
5) I never answer that question.

My choice for question to the doctor:

Have you molested any children in the last 24 hours?
When did you stop molesting children?

“Many have suggested that the 9th Circuit needs to be split.”

I’m inclined to agree with anyone who might suggest the 9th be blown up.

"There are 3 possible answers when asked by a doctor about guns:"

~~~~~
Nope. There is a fourth -- and better answer -- the one that those with classified knowledge are taught is the proper response to unauthorized queries or speculation:
"I can / will neither confirm nor deny..."
It’s amazing to me that doctors cooperated with this politicization of medicine. These are ethically retarded people.
