You have that exactly right! Here in Idaho the GOP machine dictates who is elected to the senate, house and governor's office. We tried hard to dump the RINO Mike Simpson, but no way was that going to happen as long as the party machine is in control. We are stuck with these back-benchers, ineffective go-along trolls who pass themselves off as representatives of the people.

Open primary rules in many states defininely do damage to Republican constitutional conservatism. One of the things that we can do WHEN CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVES SEIZE CONTROL OF THE NATIONAL REPUBLICAN PARTY ORGANS is to BAN OPEN PRIMARIES WHEREEVER WE CAN.
And that, folks, is why it is important to get the maximum number of “outsider” delegates (i.e., those for Cruz or Trump) to the 2016 national convention and limit the “establishment” delegates (i.e., those for Rubio, Bush, Kasich, Christie, Graham, etc.) to the smallest minority possible.
Trump supporters should not war with Cruz supporters and Cruz supporters should not war with Trump supporters...WE ARE ALLIES.
