Still a lawyer, in the end.

Next time you need a lawyer to defend you, get a real estate tycoon, a brain surgeon, or a best friend and see what happens.

Cruz knows the law and will defend your Constitutional rights. Sometimes you have to be knowledgeable to understand and work the legal process.

Cruz is not weak on the rule of law. It's Hillary, Obama and the Washington cartel who have abused their positions and power and used the Constitution against us. Cruz knows the intent of the Constitution was to protect us against an overpowering government. Cruz is working hard to defend and represent you, if you will elect him. He and other conservatives could turn Washington around.

While most of the GOP candidates could do a better job than Obama or Hillary (even a brick layer could). I support Cruz and Trump and whoever gets the GOP nomination.

“Says you.”

And most everyone else.

“Cruz responded: “I have never supported legalization, and I do not intend to support legalization.”

Which is easier, “I do not intend to support legalization”

or

“I will not support legalization”?

The first one is a lawyer/politician reserving wiggle room; the second is commitment.

Why be that verbose? He could have said ‘no’ and left it at that.

I’m satisfied with his answer. You hear what you want to hear.

It is silly that folks will refuse to read. Maybe they just cannot comprehend what they do read.

That’s what I was thinking too. This is making a mountain out of a molehill. The man’s record is clear he’s never supported any type of “amnesty” and was/is a constant pain in the neck for the “Gang of 8” that Rubio is a KNOWN part of. This plays right into the traitor’s hands. That’s the only “blame” I’m willing to lay at Cruz’s feet.

I say things like it all the time: I’ve never supported abortion nor do I ever intend to do so in the future. Who believes that means I’m secretly thinking of supporting abortion? It’s the exact opposite! It’s saying in no uncertain terms I don’t even have any INTENTION of doing so, much less would ever consider it!

People need to get some perspective and a little smarts. I’d love to know who these “conservatives” are that are making hay of the “intend”. Who do they support? Rubio?

I don’t understand why a conservative voter would spend so much time & energy ripping an obviously strong conservative candidate simply because they fancy another ‘conservative’ candidate.

Because Rubio is a lying little weasel. He will be conservative when it is to his advantage and will team with the likes of Chuck Schumer when it is to his benefit.

He lied to Floridians to get elected and he is lying now.

“You hear what you want to hear.”

Correct, and certainly Cruz supporters listening to Cruz.

Once again this is the appeal of Trump: “I’ll see that cop killers get the death penalty.” Jefferson illegally bought Louisiana. TR took Panama. Presidents can get things done.

If that is really how you feel, then you have lost all right to criticize liberal Presidents for exercising unconstitutional power grabs.

Barack Obama is a President who is "get[ting] things done."

Uh, Washington did this. Jefferson did this. EVERY president hsa done this. The Constitution’s remedies are three-fold: the courts, the Congress, and the people. So, no I haven’t lost anything. I still support both Jefferson and TR.

I hope you don't call yourself a "strict constructionist," then.

If I have to chose between the conservative instincts of Cruz, or the conservative instincts of Trump, it will be Cruz all the way - regardless of what either says in public. I guess Trump’s praise of Obama in 2009 “trumps” ‘do not intend’ last night as something to be worried about. By 2009, Obama’s policies were not in doubt.

I hear you, but politicians are still mostly all lawyers, and look what they’ve done to us. And judges that overturn popular votes are all lawyers. I and others in my family have been screwed by junk lawyers. There’s good ones, yes, but there are just too damn many, and too many of them are shysters and players. And they push Democrat hard.

I like Cruz, and hope he comes through righteously. We’ll see.

Politicians and lawyers can be ethical. But like you, I have seen my share of the unethical ones. Some so ethically bankrupt they would screw their own mothers and the citizens they were elected to represent. That is why I an keeping a close eye on Cruz and the other candidates.

I believe Cruz is ethical and can be trusted to represent our interests in turning this country around and returning it to it’s former greatness, He is a strict Constitutionist and believes in following the rule of law.
