I know when I am being played. I don't like it. The MSM and the Establishment are in complete BS mode, don't get caught up in it.
The establishment and MSM would prefer Trump to Cruz. Cruz really scares the hell out of GOPe, Democrats and the press. Look at all the hits he's been in the last 4 years from all sides. Cruz does better against Hillary than Trump, even in these polls where he has a huge lead over Cruz.

-78% support Trump's call to bans Muslims from entering the United States, to only 13% who oppose it. Overall 54% of Republicans support him on that to 28% who are opposed. Supporters of Cruz (62/20) and Carson (54/25) also favor a Muslim ban while backers of Rubio (28/48) and Bush (28/49) are opposed.
-65% of Trump voters think thousands of Arabs in New Jersey cheered the collapse of the World Trade Center, to only 11% who don’t think that happened. Overall 43% of Republicans think that event occurred to 29% who don’t. Supporters of Carson (44/10) and Cruz (45/26) agree with Trump's that it happened while those of Rubio (24/47) and Bush (12/62) say it didn’t.
-59% of Trump voters support a national database of Muslims, to 18% who are opposed. Republicans as a whole are evenly divided on that issue, 40/40. Carson supporters (42/38) join with Trump's in wanting a Muslim database but those of Cruz (38/42), Rubio (32/48), and Bush (19/62) are all against it.
-45% of Trump voters want to shut down the mosques in the United States, to only 23% who are opposed to doing that. Overall just 27% of Republicans support that to 45% who are opposed though. Supporters of all the other major GOP candidates are opposed to shutting down mosques- it’s 32/48 with Carson backers, 25/44 with those of Cruz, 9/66 with Rubio voters, and 9/69 with Bush's.
-Finally as long as we were at it we decided we'd ask people if they thought Japanese internment had been a good idea. Among Trump voters 48% say they support the use of internment during World War II, to only 21% who say they oppose it. Overall just 29% of Republicans support that to 39% opposed, and supporters of all the other candidates are against it- 29/33 with Cruz voters, 23/54 with Rubio’s, 12/48 with Carson’s, and 13/56 with Bush's.
Trump's positions aren’t hurting him for now but if he ever does falter Cruz is very well positioned to benefit.

In the real world, Cruz is a Republican factional leader whose career has been firmly within the Republican party network. He clerked for two Republican judges. He practiced law in Washington for a law firm well-connected to Republicans on Capitol Hill. He worked for George W. Bush's presidential campaign, then had two jobs in Washington in the Bush administration. He was then appointed solicitor general of Texas by Rick Perry, who succeeded Bush as the state's governor. And Cruz has been a U.S. senator since January 2013.But the fact that people dislike him personally inside the Beltway is evidence that he’s well connected among insider Republicans. They couldn’t personally dislike him if they didn’t know him, could they?

The GOPe is not scared of Ted Cruz. He is just not likable to those that know him. Ted Cruz is part of the Wall Street lead construct that is currently infecting our entire body politic. The connections to the U.S. CoC legislative agenda, and Goldman Sachs are evident in action not words, along with his wife Heidi Cruz, an investment banker Vice President with Goldman Sachs, currently on a leave of absence without pay for Ted Cruz's presidential campaign. Heidi Cruz is also member of the globalist Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and is a former Director for the Western Hemisphere on President Bush's National Security Council. So much for Ted Cruz's hype that he is a Washington Outsider.
No offense, but Trump doesn’t have this locked down because many true conservatives will show up to vote and they will vote for the conservative in this race rather than the reality star. I personally will not vote for Trump if he wins the primaries because he is no different than his pal Hillary except on immigration and that could change just as easily as his party affiliation has changed over the last two years. Most people I’ve talked to in my area of Texas feel the same way. Trump isn’t fooling any of us.

And don't give me that bullshit either. Any thing that Cruz has done in the past, Trump has trumped it by a longshot. Cruz worked in the Bush administration. BFD. He worked for Republican law firms BFD. I didn't say he wasn't a Republican. His wife is this and his wife is that is B.S. Trumps wives 1 and 3 were born in communist countries. We are not voting for the wives. At the end of the day I believe Cruz will not over promise and will deliver what he says. I also believe that if Trump wins 4 years from now we are going to be saying "Why hasn't the wall been built?", "Why do we still have all these illegals?" and "Why do we still have these terrorist acts in the US?"
Whereas we know for certain that none of the other candidates will build the wall or lift a finger to stop this invasion, they will not even admit that it is, indeed they tell us this flood of third world illiterates and terrorists is a good thing. So, I think there is a better chance to get that wall built with Trump than without him. At least he admits there is a problem, and has really changed the landscape of this election. And if he Trump fails, he’s out, and we elect the next candidate who says he will build the wall. What else can we do?
Haven't you been paying attention. Cruz said that once he is President he will appoint Trump to build the wall. That way we get a conservative President and a wall builder.

The liberals are confident they can take out Cruz later. Right now Trump scares the living daylights out of them. Cruz surging is everywhere in the MSM...but not in the poll numbers.
Neither is 41% if you can't beat Hillary. It is early. There is no national primary so it is a state by state fight. Let's as least see how that plays out before we declare Cruz DOA.

Nice find, but to be fair to Trump, the 55/34 Cruz/Trump head to head poll was just for Iowa. For now...
