The problem you have, is that you have destroyed any credibility you ever had this last six months.

Your rants against Trump are ceaseless.

I note who your fellow travelers are, and find it absolutely astounding you want to rate Trump’s Conservative credentials after lining up with who you have.

I will get to the Scalia issue when I’m ready to.

Thanks for the links.

Tsk, tsk, tsk....insulting me doesn't prove your points; whatever they might be.

Neither does your smarmy, banal, puerile replies about Trump.

You don’t have just a bit of a problem with this?

Scalia has been criticized for comments he made Wednesday during the Supreme Court’s hearing of an affirmative action case in which he seemed to suggest that some African-Americans belong in lesser colleges.

“There are those who contend that it does not benefit African-Americans to get them into the University of Texas where they do not do well, as opposed to having them go to a less-advanced school, a less — a slower-track school where they do well,” Scalia said. “One of the briefs pointed out that most of the black scientists in this country don’t come from schools like the University of Texas.”

Trump attacking Cruz for refusing to go along with McConnell tells us a lot. Trump is basically telling us he will go along to get along if elected. Some fighter he is. Some tough polls come out and look what he does. He sounded like Hillary Clinton over the weekend. He’s no tough guy after all. Cruz has my vote. He’s proven he won’t fold under pressure.

Trump isn't for single payer now and you're just posting old, old, OLD crap.

You mean he's changed his position since praising single-payer 11 weeks ago?

Trump using lefty talking points? Is the insinuation he might not be a true conservative? I am aghast! He has changed out all of his old liberal views, changed, I tell you,  and traded them in for lots of shiny new little conservative trinkets.  For example, I am sure, down to my oversized bones, that he no longer believes what he said here (younger or more sensitive FReepers are advised to access the referenced web page with caution, if at all):
Does that mean you'd support hate-crimes legislation?

Absolutely. This is one of my great disappointments with George W. Bush. He had the opportunity in Texas to show national leadership by passing a hate-crimes bill but didn't - presumably from pressure form the Christian right. When somebody is victimized because of their ethnicity, the color of their skin, or their sexual orientation, that must carry a harsh penalty.

Bush had refused to meet with the Log Cabin Republicans. Would you meet with groups advocating gay rights, such as the Human Rights Campaign?

If I decide to run, I would meet with any law-abiding group representing legitimate public interests. I remember when Bob Dole refused a campaign contribution from the Log Cabin Republicans in order to pander to the religious right - a big mistake. Now I think Governor Bush is making the same mistake. If I run, my campaign would be inclusive, and I would reach out to everyone.

Available here: http://www.advocate.com/election/2015/9/28/read-donald-trumps-advocate-interview-where-he-defends-gays-mexicans
Now I know what you bigoted, name-calling, narrow-minded, Goldwater conservatives are thinking. "Hmmm, no problem with Kelo, Constitution be d@mmed. No problem with hate crimes (aka the Thought Police), Constitution be double-d@mmed. Can we trust this man?"  But hey, that was a long time ago.  Besides, the really, really important thing is he's electable, and he's not the Democrat, and he's really sincere when he says he's turned over a new leaf, so those who do not trust him further than they can throw Trump Towers must be freaking out about nothing at all. Right?

Peace,

SR

Eleven weeks ago? HOGWASH !

Here are his words from his 60 Minutes interview on September 28 of this year:

Scott Pelley: What's your plan for Obamacare?

Donald Trump: Obamacare's going to be repealed and replaced. Obamacare is a disaster if you look at what's going on with premiums where they're up 45, 50, 55 percent.

Scott Pelley: How do you fix it?

Donald Trump: There's many different ways, by the way. Everybody's got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, "No, no, the lower 25 percent that can't afford private." But--

Scott Pelley: Universal health care?

Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now.

Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of how?

Donald Trump: They're going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probably--

Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?

Donald Trump: --the government's gonna pay for it.

Here he is at the GOP debate in August giving praise to single-payer in Canada and Scotland:

No, Donald Trump, Single-Payer Health Care Doesn't 'Work Incredibly Well' In Canada & Scotland

Last night in Cleveland, the 17 declared Republican presidential candidates participated in the first official debates of the 2016 election season. Health care policy was a bone of contention. "How can you run for the Republican nomination and be for single-payer health care?" asked former Texas Gov. Rick Perry of Trump. When Fox anchor Bret Baier later asked Trump to defend his position, Trump responded: "As far as single payer, it works in Canada, it works incredibly well in Scotland."

But he added, Quote, You look at Paris, you look at San Bernardino, its given a seriousness to this race, that people are looking for: Who is prepared to be a commander in chief? Who understands the threats we face?Unquote

He went on: Quote Who am I comfortable having their finger on the button? Now thats a question of strength, but its also a question of judgment. And I think that is a question that is a challenging question for both of them.Unquote

OMG, can with trust that crazy Trump with his finger on the nuke button? How much lower can Cruz go? That's a slur the Dims and the worst of the GOPe talking heads throw (at) Trump and anyone they want to disparage.

Exactly what LBJ did to Goldwater totally eviscerate his campaign.

Famous "Daisy" Attack Ad from 1964 Presidential Election

But Rush says that Cruz has not said anything against Trump. Mendacity is not your strong suit Rush.

Cruz is a Canadian born - Globalist - Wall Street and DC insider, groomed, bought and paid for.

I've afraid there is more truth to that than I thought a few months ago. He's stuck a finger in the eye of senate leadership a time or two, but that might have been mostly self-promotion. He's usually there for them on critical votes. I need see him operate much longer before I could support him for president.

He's a much more distant number 2 for me now than a few months ago.

Are you worried about Trump having his finger on the nuke button?

Considering Trump's hair-trigger tendency to attack anyone he views as insulting him or threatening his position, yes, I worry about having his finger on the nuke button.

I want a President that is not paralyzed with fear of using the nuke button against enemies that will have no compunction against it themselves. I would as soon risk eating rats in a cave or death in a fireball as hot as the sun, than risk my great grandchildren living in the barbaric devolution of civilization brought by socialism or heinous and inhuman Islam dhimmitude.
