Homeless squatters are taking over LaGuardia Airport
New York Post ^ | December 14, 2015 | Danielle Furfaro, Philip Messing and Georgett Roberts

Vice President Joe Biden once compared it to a "Third World country" - but LaGuardia Airport has become so riddled with homeless that it could now even make some of those nations look good.

The number of derelicts living at the airport has increased dramatically in the past year, turning the main terminal into the city's most popular de facto flophouse, where they sleep, eat and wash up while competing for space with passengers, according to Port Authority sources.

Our once great country is being turned into a backward, third world hell hole.

How is this possible when a ticket is required to get through TSA security?

LaGuardia would be that way without the homeless all over the place.

A person does not need a ticket to enter an airport, they only need a ticket to get passed TSA security.

I visited NYC once during the administration of David Dinkins. I exited Grand Central through the south exit, with the plan of walking to the vicinity of 27th street.

After going a couple of blocks and being alarmed by the number of times I had to step over the legs and sometimes bodies of bums on the sidewalk, and occasionally dodge attempts to waylay me or reach into my pockets, I started to run.

I was in my early thirties at the time, but was no athlete by any means. Still, I was amazed at how fear-stoked adrenaline enabled me to run without stopping roughly one-half mile to my destination. The area around Grand Central was something like - I imagine - Calcutta.

It sounds like a similar circumstance has now developed under Mayor whatever-he-calls-himself.

NYC a very good place for them to be.

There were dead bodies in the street?

Lord knows there’s no shortage of police and security type people at the airports these days

if they can’t even protect the airports against squatters moving in and living there, its no wonder they fail to catch 97% of “real” terrorist threats

suggestion: stop wasting our taxpayer money — they’re doing no good at all so...lay them all off

Terminal proper, not boarding gates.

OK ... I go through LGA with some regularity, always on Delta. There is VERY little non-secure space upstairs, and precious little downstairs in baggage claim.

I haven’t really noticed a homeless population, but I AM pretty focused once I de-plane.

Perhaps this is happening in the Southwest/Airtran terminal where you might have issues distinguishing between passengers and homeless people ;-)

“How is this possible when a ticket is required to get through TSA security?”

They just squat around the lobby and the baggage claim areas.

If you want to mingle with the elite homeless Hillary voters. Take Air Canada, United, Jet Blue or Southwest...if not take Delta, American or West Jet

Chilling.
Perfect subterfuge for a terrorist, and it’s being allowed in NY airports.

My son’s office is across the street from a public library in a major city.
Almost every day, the bomb squad has to come and blow up the shopping carts full of junk that the mentally ill bums leave tied to the lamp post outside, while they’re inside the library sleeping or bathing.
The bums can, and often do, sue the city for their losses.
Your tax dollars at work.
