Sorry but people who have the "home, family, little babies," view of mohammedans are projecting their own values on that group.
Killing off the unfit or worthless is very common among mohammedans, they just don't talk about it.
If the family is poor and the child can be used in begging then they are useful and will be kept barely alive until they can birth another who is even more pathetic. The older one will then be sold off or just starved to death.
Families that are more wealthy skip the "keep them alive" part and move directly on to the starving them to death part.
