It took a major turn towards the center when Rick Green was in charge for 3 years. He is a good guy. But Rick left a few months ago; and the Register has screeched back to the extreme left.

Wright writes for Breitbart, which is financed by Richard Mercer, who benefits from TPP and also supports the Ted Cruz campaign. This was reported in a long running blog, which Wright then lied about by claiming it had no "about" page and was created recently as an alleged Trump Front. The blog had been around for years. Wright's bile against Trump is to be expected: he has a paycheck on the line.
