You know, they might be able to find out who owns a significant number of the guns out there, but taking them is quite another matter. There are some 380 million guns out there, owned by over 100 million people spread out over an entire continent. There are literally not enough police and federal LEOs to keep track of them, let alone seize them - and that is WITHOUT opposition, which there will certainly be.

IOW, things aren’t quite so simple...and I believe that the gun-grabbers are well aware of that - because if they weren’t, they’d have already tried confiscation. It is simple, raw FEAR (fear of not only that percentage of the 100+ million gun owners who would resist, but the vets and former special operators among them that would be FAR more capable and effective) that prevents them from doing so - as the Founders intended.

Oh. I totally agree that it wouldn’t be easy, or even doable...my point simply is it isnt as hard to find out who has them as some might think. Just imagine “rewards” for people “seeing something, saying something”. Just imagine how easy it is to follow social media, forums, etc., and ascertain who has them. It’s amazing the amount of information that people “share” in this method.

[[That worked pretty well in NY. I think they got about 13% compliance.]]

Doesn’t matter I they comply or not- if a policeman discovers guns or clips on the banned list, in a vehicle, or in a home- that person will now be guilty of a felony That is the problem with executive orders like this- making law abiding citizens into criminals if they don’t surrender their constitutionally protected second amendment right to own guns

I think el-presidente goes for the attempt to require all firearms sold have a background check through and FFL creating a form 4473 trail and a trail in the “non-existent” feds database. There are millions of firearms out there that the original 4473 form trail would be a dead end should there be an attempt at confiscation. By requiring this so-called background check you put these firearms back on the radar for an owner.

If this doesn’t work, next comes you will register your firearms with the benevolent federal government, why we would never use this to confiscate your guns, honest, you can trust us!

As for el-supremo and his executive orders, piss on him, how in the hell could he prove I sold or bought any gun after his imperial decree???

That information flow goes in both directions. They can compile lists to their heart’s content, but so can those opposed to them...and there are a couple orders of magnitude as many people in the latter category - which is the core of the gun-grabbers’ problem.
