Serving police officers today backed Donald Trump's claim that some Muslim communities in the UK are no-go areas because of extremism.
Several Met officers have said the 'Islamification' of some parts of the capital requires 'extra vigilance' and they can't wear uniforms for safety reasons - despite Scotland Yard claiming the tycoon 'couldn't be more wrong'.
Home Secretary Theresa May tonight rejected Mr Trump's claims, insisting: 'The police in London are not afraid to go out and police the streets.'
The US presidential contender caused worldwide consternation yesterday after a string of incendiary remarks about Muslims, including in Britain, and said: 'We have places in London and other places that are so radicalised that police are afraid for their own lives.'
But one serving officer said today Trump had 'pointed out something plainly obvious, something which I think we aren't as a nation willing to own up to'.
Another policeman said that he and other colleagues fear being terror targets and spoke of the 'dire warning' from bosses not to wear a uniform 'even in my own car'.

Why don’t they name the areas of London? They can send some journalists there wearing police uniforms...and watch what happens.

Lots of people commenting at the site like it, agree with it and some of them want him to be their PM. Others are hoping this is the start of their fight back.
Are those areas ruled by Sharia law? Just wondering.
I have stayed in Windsor, Richmond and Slough in London. Slough is slowly and surely converted into Muslim area. People wear Burqa and 3-4 families stays in 2-3 bedroom house. Kids don’t go to local school but attend weekend Islamic school. Run down house and streets.
East London, Bradford, part of Leeds is Pakistan.
No different than almost any big city in the US. No go zones.
Cameron wouldn’t even stand up to Obama on the Iran deal. As bad as Merkel, and London will get hit. Just a matter of time.
I was absolutely stunned yesterday to hear Joe Scarborough challenge TRUMP on this condition in London Muslim communities! It has been common knowledge and had been all over TV, at the time, even if purposely shelved in the fire storm against TRUMP, since the situation was revealed!
Mika sat there also, giving Trump the one-eye, and with the doubting facial expressions and eye rolling that serves as her only job requirement, on the panel.
This should not be treated as some far out and “new” revelation. How to break through with the obvious, with the facts on the ground and in the record is becoming a full time job, in this climate.
I believe you. They stay out of those "no-go" areas which every large metropolis has. Do you think that the police patrol Watts (Los Angeles)? I doubt it.
And, I don't blame them. The black police officers probably get lots of flack from black residents.
The problem for the leftscum is more do like it!
