Syrian refugees welcomed by agencies despite states' fight

Days before a family of six Syrian refugees was to arrive in Texas, the furniture and supplies for their apartment were ready. Local volunteers collected mattresses, toys and bicycles for two children. Syrians already settled here were prepared to welcome them and help them get acquainted with their new home thousands of miles from their war-torn homeland. [...]

Refugees arrived this week in two cities in Texas and in Indiana, both states whose governors have said they reject Syrian refugees due to concerns they might pose a threat to public safety.

A family of six refugees was settled Monday night in Dallas, joining relatives living in the region already, and a couple and their four daughters arrived in Houston. They arrived as Texas was mounting the most aggressive campaign of any state against Syrian refugees. And a couple and their two young children arrived in Indiana at the invitation of the Roman Catholic archdiocese in Indianapolis, which went on with plans to resettle them despite calls from Gov. Mike Pence not to do so. ...

Of course, these agencies are welcoming them. The taxpayers are paying for the food, shelter, clothing and what not being provided to these alleged “refugees.” Plus I'm reasonably sure these agencies are getting some money for being good boys and girls and serving as accomplices for Obama’s scheme.

I put the first comment after the story.

“Why not? These agencies are being paid millions of dollars by the federal government to seed future terrorists all over the USA.
“I can’t wait to read the AP story down the road expressing shock and surprise when the next terror attack happens, and we learn that the “refugee” vetting was just as comprehensive as that given to Tashfeen Malik.”

Non profits are always profitable for those collecting a salary from them.

If we had real money instead of printed, fiat federal reseve dollars, progressive government could not finance all these massive social engineering schemes

exactly,Some Churches, Catholic charities are all raking in money from this.

Seems money is more important than keeping their religion or keeping the country safe for them

I was baptized Catholic, but fell away as a young woman. I thought about returning, but now I won’t. The church has become a criminal enterprise.

Welfare funded Moo-slime terrorism seems to be a pattern that is growing by the day.

It is like we are in a continuous time loop of incredible stupid and we can't break free from the cycle.

It has gotten many innocents killed up to this point and sadly it will kill many more.

It has to stop. Enough is enough.

The threat of radical Islam aside, here is another family on permanent welfare, cash payouts, healthcare, food cards, housing.... Obama is networking the infrastructure of terrorism throughout the US?

We are hearing about families, but what about the able bodied men who are the majority of Syria’s immigrants? How many of them are we taking in for every Hallmark moment we see?

Gov. Abbott, who I like a lot, seems to have gotten a deal on some of Obama’s red line paint. You know, the kind that says “cross at will”. Come on, Governor. Do something.

our family left the Church when all they preached was helping other countries and not having a problem with homosexual marriage.

When I raised the question of vets under bridges why not help themI got told there are people in Peru which needs our help..

Anyway I have more time on Sundays now and don’t need to be told to sing a song or say a certain prayer. I can do all that without being told.

Not that I would ever defend Obama, but the shoveling of our tax money over to these (church affiliated) agencies got cranked up to 11 by George W. Bush under his Faith-Based Initiative.

That would not be a defense of Obama. Not even in the fictional Bush vs. Obama context.

I guess we’re paying to brings in homos and trannies.

The groups that are really cashing in off the refugees are the religious (although they have to be non-religious) to perform their services. These groups are collecting billions to resettle immigrants. Too many, it is their full time job.

If you review the financial statements of the different “Catholic Charities” organizations (Dallas, NYC, Houston, Miami, LA, and just about every other city in the USA), you will find they are receiving most of their funds from the government. The funds they receive from tax payers exceeds donations.

These professional grant writers have created full-time jobs for themselves while undermining our national security. They put them up in places and shoe them how to sign up for welfare.

They do the dirty work of our federal government all under the good name of their religion. They take the money and dump them on the taxpayers.

Please re think.

The Church itself states, in the Catechism, that we are not to ruin countries for the sake of refugees. Tha we are to adhere to local rules of immigration not to say enforce nor certainly not to defy them

The American bishops right now defy and mock laws of immigration. The head of this thinking are Gomez of LA and GARCIA Siller of San Antonio both born and raised in Mexico. They not only defy church and federal law they defy their own agreement of citizenship. They are not allowed to publicly defy federal law by that virtue though I am not an expert on that

The rest of the bishops weakly go along with them. In the current climate that weakness is acceptable. But it is destructive

Practicing Catholicism is weekly reception of the Eucharist and the other tenets of the faith. This corruption is an attempt at destruction from within. It will pass
