Washington Examiner ^ | 12/8/15 | By Paul Bedard

The mother of an injured Army veteran of the Iraq war is selling a rare letter from President Obama to cover her son's medical and personal expenses despite the president's handwritten promise to do "everything we can over the next four years to support your family."

Cherry McKimmey told Secrets, "Something good might as well come out of that. It is doing no good lying in my drawer. It means absolutely nothing to me."

Whenever Obama, or any Democrat, says they will help the veterans they are lying.

By the way, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee who is preventing fixing the problems at the VA is Bernie Sanders.

“It means absolutely nothing to me.”

It’s a shame that a POTUS would even cause this kind of response from a US citizen. Very sad.

Addressing global warming is an outside the box way to fix the problems at the VA.

She voted for the nitwit, which doesn’t speak well for her. My question is, who would even want an 0bama letter, unless it was a suicide note or letter of resignation.

Prayers to you Cherry McKimmey.

May Christ's LOVE surround you and all the other Mothers.

Medical expenses are covered. What is with Zero promising to cover personal expenses? Yes, VA medical sucks now, but; no one promised me a free ride the rest of my life for my own personal expenses. Obama is an idiot. He owes her for his promise.

"It is doing no good lying in my drawer."

Very accurate statement.

“We just assumed everything would be taken care of,” she said in a telephone interview. “We should have known better.”

Yes, she should have.

My idea, as I believe I said before, is to pass the care for vets down to the states and private institutions. The VA has jumped the shark and is one big, lifelong bungle. If some federal funding is necessary to support such an arrangement, fine, but I hope even that wouldn’t be necessary.

The prudent way to handle this is to provide federal vouchers for private healthcare that would meet most soldiers’ needs, close most of the VA hospitals, clinics and CBOCs and leave open just a few key military hospitals such as Walter Reed and Bethesda. The private health care industry can provide quality care and the government can save millions closing all these inefficient hospitals and clinics and selling the equipment and buildings to the private sector. Sort of like the Army base closures, this can be done in steps. The government would still honor their commitment to veterans but they would be doing it by paying the freight for private medical care.
