President Barack Obama will use his Sunday night address on terrorism to urge the American people not to 'give in to fear' after the California shootings.
In only the third Oval Office address of his two terms as Commander in Chief, Obama will also pledge to use 'every single aspect of American power' to combat terrorism.
The symbolic use of the Oval Office is likely an attempt by Obama to set a tone of political gravitas equal to the moment after repeated accusations that he underestimated the threat from ISIS.
However, Attorney General Loretta Lynch cautioned this morning that the President may also ask Congress to take on the issue of gun control as a national security priority.

But, whatever we may think of FDR, he was better than that kind of pandering. His speach went on:

In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days
That is not a bad message for the present situation. But it requires a leadership of frankness (honesty) and vigor and that we see nowhere.
