In wake of San Bernardino mass shooting, Bill de Blasio appeals to comptroller to 'to divest immediately' from funds that include assault weapon-makers New York City's mayor, Bill de Blasio, urged the city's pension funds on Friday to divest their holdings in stocks of gun-makers after this week's mass shooting in San Bernardino, California. In a statement he said: "I call on all government pension funds in New York City and across the country to divest immediately from funds that include assault weapon manufacturers." The mayor urged the city comptroller "to divest as soon as possible if no verifiable assurance is given that assault weapons will not be sold to civilians". De Blasio also appealed to private investors to dump gun stocks and funds that invest in them.

A "perfect crisis" to implement further economic warfare against Americans while denying them their basic human right of self defense. Of course this mayor has plenty of armed bodyguards to protect him, and doesn't mind using more taxpayer's money to buy guns at ridiculously government-inflated prices 'cause, hey, he's important and stuff.

When the next Americans are slaughtered by Islamic terrorists in New York City's gun free zones I'm sure the Marxist Mayor will demand even more gun control--but welcome even MORE Islamic refugees.

The more liberals rave about gun control, the more guns are sold. Sounds like a good investment to me.

Accept investment advice from a communist, and watch what happens.

In California, taxpayers have to pony up to make sure mismanaged public pension obligations are made good.

Do New Yorkers have to do the same?

For every divestment that occurs in New York, there will be corresponding investments made in the heartland. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK YOU LIBERAL WACKOS!!! New Yorkers deserve someone like this Commissar Deblasio.

How we can protect our families? Keep ISIS and Obama Syrians out of America, now.

After that fails:

Aw, you beat me to it. With Hizzoner driving the stock down and the bat-eared gun grabber driving the demand up, this may be a great time to buy.

The all “assault” gun makers should charge NY city triple for their weapons sold to the Police.

Well, my point was, why should he care how much they cost? It’s not his money that will get spent...

Typical of liberals to have no economic literacy and absolutely no fiscal responsibility to the office they hold.

That’s a real issue that isn’t mentioned with these stupid pronouncements; I remember some token black official years ago talking about using stockholder activism (including divestment from some company or other) to make a political point. He actually said, “When you control x million in pension funds, you don’t have to march in the street”.

Very creepy...
