Due to the systematic oppression faced by Black students throughout the world via colorism, racism, classism, mass incarceration, police brutality and all other injustices we need psychological services that cater to our unique psychological needs.

"We demand..."? "...throughout the world..."? So, Emory must take it on itself to correct this worldwide problem by catering to you self-centered brats? Like the President at Oklahoma Wesleyan said: "This isn't a daycare center". If you don't like it, transfer to one of the many black universities. Or, did you avoid those schools in the first place because you know they aren't as rigorous as Emory? Grow up.

8.8% assumes that ALL the black students are in on this, which odds are that is not the case. The black students who are not on board with this will be the first to transfer out of this school, so at not to be associated with this, or face a backlash. Remember: before all this chaos began, many parents did sent their children to college to get an education.

The university has a responsibility to the students, faculty, alumni and board of regents to either suspend or expel these idiots.

The tuition at Emory is about the same as for Yale. I wonder how many of the students making these demands are paying their full tuition...and how their ACT or SAT scores compare to other groups. I never had any private tutors (other than my mother drilling me on phonics in first grade) and none of my high school classmates did either.

They want any black organization accused of offenses to have their case tried by an all-black jury. Let's hope the DOJ doesn't read their list of demands or they may start demanding that local courts have all criminal cases involving a black defendant be tried by an all-black jury.

Oh, I remember when black students almost universally went to school to get an education. Where I grew up, that was seen as the ticket out of working in tobacco fields or working as a waterman (commercial fisheries deckhand). Going on to college was a dream, almost as much for whites as blacks because college was expensive and the competition for scholarships fierce and merit based, or based on athletic ability. The other route was the GI Bill.

I remember when, after forced school integration led to race riots, that goal got lost in the shuffle.

Some of my best teachers were black, in an era when victimhood was not the focus of history/social studies. Even though we studied a few more black contributors than some of the other schools, those were people (like George Washington Carver) well worthy of that attention.

In those days, though, Democrats were still arguably pro-American and by today's standards at least as patriotic as 'moderate' Republicans today.

Most Africans don’t have the intellect to compete in serious higher education. This is why there are second tier programs delivering courses and useless degrees in areas such as black studies, race relations, lesbian and homosexual studies, gender studies, diversity studies and the rest for those students lacking the potential to succeed in academically challenging programs.

I think a number of affies think because they excel in some sports that they have the same potential for serious academic pursuits. Others expect affirmative action to make the courses and grades easy to come by.

Because historically black colleges are as competitive as most high schools. This is where affirmative action comes into play for the graduates seeking jobs with their “higher education” degrees.

As someone who teaches in a non-selective public university, I get African-American students who aren't equipped for college, but that is also true of many of the white students, and I also get some very good black students.

The discrepancy may be worse at the elite schools--places like Emory admitting black students who would be better suited to a four-year public university instead of competing against students with much better high school educations and much higher ACT or SAT scores. But the administrators are judged by how successful they are at increasing the "diversity" of their student body and faculty.

I am well aware since I taught in a professional school for a couple of decades. Out of all 4 classes, we might get a semi-qualified African once every 8-10 years. The Bell IQ curve demonstrates beyond any doubt that as a population, the African race occupies the left side of the curve. This is a scientific fact. Their average IQ is some 15-20 points lower than Europeans/whites.

The faculty should have responded to these demands with an immediate statement that all scholarships, grants, etc. will be under very close review and that anyone involved in this pitiful minstrel show will have ANY financial assistance revoked immediately and permanently. A few offers to buy one-way tickets to Africa wouldn’t be amiss either.
