the pictures I saw, were NOT ar-15’s, or any design derivative of that genre.
It has been proven, on another occasion, that, yes, the spent casings on the ground matched ak-74 rounds, when compared to .223, 5.56mm, and the ak47’s 7.62x39mm casings. The ak-74’s use a similar chambering to 5.56mm with a short casing.
