The brother of the San Bernardino gunman is a decorated Navy veteran who has been honored for his role in the war on terror. Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, was named as the suspect who stormed the Inland Regional Center and massacred 14 people during a holiday party for county health employees on Wednesday. But Farookâs older brother Syed Raheel Farook, a married father who goes by his middle name, has a number of âawards and decorationsâ from his time in the Navy, Buzzfeed reported.

Kinda like Michael Corleone, eh
Whatever.
Major Nidal Hasan was a highly respected Army officer too.
So is the brother a devout muslim? Somehow I think not.
Very interesting. Thanks for posting.
> Major Nidal Hasan was a highly respected Army officer too.
Yes, but he never saw combat and was never decorated, as far as I know.
Named the "suspect". He was shot along with his radical islamic bride in the get away car you morons.
I would say he was more than just "suspected" to be the one.
And it was a CHRISTmas party you embeciles.
Regardless of the brother’s status, it does not negate the fact that HIS dead brother is a Muslim Terrorist.

Agree 100%
during a holiday party

What “holiday was it?
They can’t even say it.
Wasn’t Timothy McVeigh a decorated veteran too?
> Regardless of the brotherâs status, it does not negate the fact that HIS dead brother is a Muslim Terrorist.
Correction: WAS A MUSLIM TERRORIST. Is now worm food.
Probably in wait of his Nidal Hasan moment. It has to run in the family.
>>He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, according to Buzzfeed. He was also an enlisted surface warfare specialist and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, records show.
Geedunk medal, 3 “I was there” medals, a “four years of undetected crime” medal, and and ESWS (which the requirements to obtain are pitifully easy these days).
Not the war hero that the headline implies. Just a guy doing his job. Just like his brother (right up to the point where he went SJS with his new “bride”—who was coincidentally named after an 11th century Jihadi who attacked Valencia to take Spain for islam).
Stop making dear brother out to be a hero.
He did serve, and for that he is to be respected.
But all of those “medals” (actually, ribbons) were “I was there” ribbons.
We’re not talking about Silver Stars or Flying Crosses.
With all my years in uniform and rows of service ribbons I would not dare to call myself a hero just for being there.
Overtime, I’ve sadly come to the conclusion that just like any animal can suddenly turn on you, so can any human.
“Decorated” is probably the wrong word. While I am Army, not Navy, he appears to have the normal set of service medals for a young sailor with a single enlistment and a deployment. No commendation medals. Which, in the Army at least, would not be that unusual for a first termer who got out.
Good on him for signing up and fulfilling his commitment to the nation. His brother, however, I hope is suffering an eternity of hellfire. I hope this young man and his wife can get through being related to such an evil b-——d.
On a side note, I wonder how the family is going to explain to a young girl that her parents gleefully mass murdered innocent people?
while that is likely true, the point is to separate wheat from chaff
there is an apparent valid distinction here
Perhaps the UK Mail should have done more research into what the decorations actually represented. They were given to all members of the military, not for what they did, but, to show that they basically existed at that time. All member who deployed during that time got the expeditionary medal and all members serving in the military got the terrorism service medal. He didn’t have to do anything special to get the medals except stay alive and keep his nose clean.
That they are martyrs In heaven and she is the cub of lions who died for allah
The kid probably qualifies for some special CAIR martyr pension
