Following the heinous December 2 attack that resulted in the deaths of 14 innocents in San Bernardino, CA, the New York Daily News ran a front-page story mocking GOP presidential hopefuls who prayed to God rather than calling for more gun control.
The NY Daily News front page said, 'God Isnt Fixing This'. And the story went on to mock Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)Governor Chris Christie, former Governor Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, and Donald Trump all of whom invoked God's name on behalf of the victims and the families of the victims of the horrible attack.
According to the NY Daily News, Cruz, Christie, Bush, Carson, and Trump erred in offering prayers rather than 'solutions on gun control.'
Did the NY Daily News mention that California is one of the most gun-controlled states in the Union or that they already have expanded background checks and require 'assault weapons' to be registered with the state? No. But they sure mocked those who see the futility of expanding background checks that failed miserably in San Bernardino on December 2 and proved impotent in Colorado as well, where gunmen carried out high-profile shootings on November 27 and October 31.

One of the young women trapped in the conference center during the rampage texted her father to ask that he pray for her. I guess she was just another ignorant, conservative rube who should have asked that he push for gun control instead.
Believe it or not there was time when this was a conservative paper and the Post was the liberal rag. This is a new low for even the failing daily snooze.
A new low indeed.
The mainstream media in this country is far worse than worthless.
Oh, God is fixing this. Just not the way a lot of us think....
Not a good move on their part. Plenty of pushback on FB and Twitter. This paper is the go-to rag for working-class blacks - it’s the only newspaper I’ve ever seen read by black people going to work on the subway - and many of those people still go to church.
Need to bring an old saying, and mean it:
“Praise God and pass the ammunition.”
*Meant to say: “bring back an old saying.”
Cowards support them.
Good men arm themselves for the defense of self, family, and community.
LOL, How many lives have been lost to drug over doses or results of the drug wars here in the USA? They can’t stop the drug traffic and they think a back ground check will stop the illegal gun trade? The criminals have their own weapon pipeline. Its not like they will go into Walmart and order a M15 on their own. They will pay a needy person to front for them if need be. Sure we can prevent people from buying the ammo by not stocking it, but eventually we will have a black market in ammo, and who do you think will profit from it the most? (certainly not your average law abiding John Q. Public) It appears to me the ones who are whining the most are the ones who don’t want to lose control over us. Remember, if your thoughts are different from theirs they don’t count.
And why should God fix this, Daily Spews?
The blood of over 60 million aborted babies is a stench in His nostrils already.
A land of people so arrogant as to shake their fists in His face is another.
I have friends there so I would hope not.
I think wishing the Daily News would go bankrupt might be more reasonable.
My younger brother works in Manhattan. He lost half his clients on 9-11.
Would you mind rethinking that?
I saw multiple expressions on Twitter last night from reporters making fun of praying.
From Huffington post reporter, Sam Stein,
Senior Politics Editor, Huffington Post:
From Gene Weingarten “Washington Post columnist.
Dear “thoughts and prayers” people: Please shut up and slink away. You are the problem, and everyone knows it.
I prayed for the victims and for the safety of those hunting for the terrorists.
From Huffington post reporter Sam Stein: Another Mass Shooting, Another Deluge Of Tweeted Prayers
They’ll blame conservatives as their flesh burns.
Your acute observation with slight additions: “Evil men in denial of their own evil proclivities propose gun control because they project their evil intentions onto people they hate, fear, and envy.”
