Here Comes Cruz in Iowa [Trump 30%, Cruz 21%]
National Review -- The Corner ^ | November 23, 2015 | Rich Lowry

The CBS poll over the weekend had Cruz nosing into second in Iowa. Trump still leads at 30 percent, with Cruz at 21 and Carson at 19. At this point, I think you have to say Cruz is the favorite to win Iowa — in fact if this is where the race stood in a poll the weekend before the caucuses, I’d still bet on Cruz because I assume his voters are very motivated and very reliable caucus-voters.

Cruz can reasonably be expected to win Iowa, and winning Iowa will have a significant effect on the race.

Iowa is not a primary, it’s a caucus.

From the genius who said that Fiorina took Trump out in the second debate.

Don’t the difference, to my embarrassment.

Worse yet. I think you’ve answered this for me before already. Just don’t recall.

Guess I’ll be hitting Wikipedia later :)

I love these guys! IMO, they are our only chance of turning things around.
No, they are not perfect, they are not politically correct, but they are what we need!
Many evil people will do anything to keep these men from power, we must stand strong for TRUMP/CRUZ!

That’s a great image!

I’ll have to try and find a high resolution copy of that without the text...

The media that still has no idea if Obama even attended classes at Occidental or Columbia is pouring over every moment of Ted Cruz’ life right now.

If Cruz is either at the top or bottom of the ticket he will have to work hard at correcting the ‘fast-track’ rider within TPA that he constructed and placed there. That ‘rider’ will harm American interests for YEARS and it doesn’t matter if he has ‘changed his mind’. The damage has been done.-——http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2015/11/30/the-cold-anger-awakening-continues-tpp-contains-the-vehicle-for-passage-of-global-climate-change-rules/

Here is how the Iowa caucus works for Republicans (Democrats have a different system):

You attend a caucus event on caucus night at the appropriate precinct.

People will be asked to speak in favor of candidates they support.

Everyone at the precinct votes for their candidate in a secret vote.

The results are called into the State party and tabulated as a (in 2016) binding vote for the precinct.

Then the same people vote for a representative of their precinct to go to the county caucus (99 county caucuses). Those representatives will then choose delegates from their county to go to the district caucus (4 district caucuses). The district representatives will then choose the delegates who will represent Iowa at the Republican convention.

For political purposes, the straw poll is the most important event. It is very unlikely that Iowa’s actual delegates at the convention would make or break a candidate’s chances. But that straw poll at the beginning of the precinct caucuses can crash campaigns in a few hours.

Yes, I agree.

I just hope he will because I think it is his only way to eventually become president.... and we NEED HIM!

My dream is he serves two terms as president and then somehow winds up on the Supreme Court. He's relatively young and could serve 30 years on the court after serving 8 years as POTUS.

Trump is a powerful, charismatic and flawed man... he shares these traits with Churchill. Like Churchill he is the right flawed man to do what needs doing at a critical time in history. Trump's greatest gift to us all would be helping to get Cruz into the white house.

"Do not hesitate to raise up a flawed man if circumstances require it" --Winston Churchill--

It is a lot easier to get people to swing by a polling place sometime during the voting day than to get people to go to a meeting at a specific time and listen to speeches and go through various phases of voting.

It’s for that reason that having a strong organization is important for Iowa. You need to not only have people who are in charge of the 99 counties, but you really need someone in all 1,700+ precincts in order to have a good chance of coming out on top. Those precinct chiefs have to be fired up and committed in order to bring in the number of supporters to win their precinct for their candidate.

Iowa is a whole different critter, and it really winnows out those candidates who don’t pay attention to details and don’t have real grassroots support. You can’t just throw money at the airwaves and win.

Yup, this is the one thing that gnaws at me....

I have no explanation for his actions in this matter.

I wish someone could explain it to me so I could get past it... I really do :-/

In spite of this glaring flaw I still am all in for Cruz.
