COP21: 2 Degrees from Total Absurdity

When I was young, copping something was slang for stealing. So, COP21, what are they stealing and from whom?

Look, I don't believe in human-caused climate change. Never have since this hoax started with global cooling back in the 70s. When I was a kid, global warming was called summertime.

But the question I always have is, if such were the case, why hasn't anything apocalyptic or catastrophic ever happen as predicted in the intervening years since the predictions? Or why has this scam been continued for decades and no one every presses Gore or Obama or others about their predictions of calamitous outcomes if we don't do something right away? Or what exactly are they going to do besides ruin our economy while other countries continue to pollute at will? And what is the game plan to "fix" this so-called climate change problem, if there is an agreement reached in Paris to actually do something?

I believe Obama continues to claim climate change is the biggest problem facing humanity because he doesn't actually have to do anymore than just give some speeches and bad-mouth the Republicans. He never has to do anything else except maybe impose some more restrictive regulations against the fossil fuel industry.

If he were to focus on defeating ISIS, he would actually have to do something like coming up with a strategy to win against them and then execute the plan. He is not good at that approach where he actually has to lead. To Obama, talk is easier than action.

From about 9000 to 4500 years ago, a period called unfacetiously by climatologists "the Climatic Optimum", the earth's climate was indeed about 2-3^o warmer than now. Despite massive ice caps in Greenland and Antarctica and Alpine and Scandinavian valleys choked with receding glaciers, holding out from the receding Ice Age, the Arctic Ocean was ice-free and the taiga (forests) of Canada and Siberia extended all the way to the shores of the northern ocean. Sea levels rose all through the period from their Pleistocene lows, breaching the Dardanelles and filling the Euxine Basin (now the Black Sea) with a thunderous cascade that may have taken an entire century to fill with seawater.

There were no trade winds during the Climatic Optimum, but instead, southerly winds from the tropics watered the modern desert regions, so that Arabia Felix (its Roman name, still lingering memories of ages long past) and Libya were watered with abundent rain and broad rivers, and the grasslands teemed with wildlife from Morocco to Manchuria.

So much for the terrors of a climate 2^oC warmer than the present.

Well, keep wishing and hoping. The Climatic Optimum is long gone, and the next big change is a return of full glacial conditions some number of centuries in our future. My best guess is 600-1800 years, but that's just me.

I don’t think Obama really believes any of this, nor does Al Gore, if Gore believed it he would not have spent a fortune to build a mansion on the seashore and he would not use more energy than some small towns do. It is all about power and money. The American people used to be too smart to fall for this crap but it is amazing now that so many people don’t blink an eye when co2 is labeled a pollutant in spite of the fact that if co2 were to be eliminated from the atmosphere life as we know it on Earth would end without it.
The more “higher education” we have the dumber people become.
