"We can have both"?? Really? Says who? Wishes, that's who.

And if wishes were kisses, we'd all be in love.

But wishes are only hopeful thoughts. Name me the last presidential primary race where Free Republic was resplendent with posts pairing their top two favorite candidates as a running ticket? I can -- the one in 2012; it happens like clockwork every four years.

Now name me any presidential candidate of any party who chose as his running mate his closest primary opponent?

Donald Trump wants people to think he thinks like Cruz, going so far as to boast that "Ted Cruz is now agreeing with me 100 percent ... He's backed everything I've said."

This, when a modicum of internet research reveals that Ted Cruz was FIRST in warning against taking Syrian refugees -- it was Trump who "backed everything" Cruz said;, and Ted Cruz was FIRST in warning that Christianity was under attack; it was Trump who "is now agreeing with Cruz 100 percent."

Wake the heck up.

Donald Trump really wants you to believe that he's just like Cruz only better.

Why is that?

Actually Finny, it's you that needs to "wake the heck up".

You are entitled to your opinion, but you are not entitled to have the ONLY opinion. Your opinion is no more or less valid than mine or anyone else here at FR.

Second, knock it off with the snarky BS. You'll never convince me of the value of your opinion with that approach.

For now I'm staying with Trump/Cruz.

((((....." Internet research reveals that Ted Cruz was FIRST in warning against taking Syrian refugees -- it was Trump who "backed everything" Cruz said;,..... and Ted Cruz was FIRST in warning that Christianity was under attack; it was Trump who "is now agreeing with Cruz 100 percent.".....)))))

That's exactly right....and those who have followed Cruz have known all along that Trump simply mirrors Cruz as he attempts to transform himself into a believable political mouthpiece with a PT Barnum style of delivery and a Hollywood attraction theme in crowded stadiums....

It's pretty evident Trump's consistent buffoonery appears to be specifically tailored to our nations need to be an entertained culture, where wealth and exploitation of it along with celebrity fame moves seamlessly into political popularity..... the public likes the sounds, camera's and action.....entertaining the masses with drama and animation while manipulating them lovingly.

One is a True Conservative Constitutional Leader with a solid history of fighting in the trenches for America on the front lines, who has the scars to show for it.......the other is a Guest at his table with no history of fighting in the actual battles for the issues he now claims as his own.

Ted Cruz's boots are grounded in more ways than one....Cruz has said .....I think the biggest divide we’ve got in this country is not between Republicans and Democrats, It’s between entrenched politicians in Washington in both parties and the American people......He get's it all too well....<>

I don't think anyone was as stunned as Trump when his popularity rose........and was clearly evidenced.... This is the same man who told us he wasn't sure about running even as he took a deep breath along side his wife and descended the stairs to make his announcement.

For Trump, unlike other candidates, running is just another popularity notch in his belt...he has nothing to loose as he's already changed the dynamics of the race as Obama did his....and the media certainly loved the show and ratings from the get go....so did Trump...... But I think that because "wealth is a perfume" that attracts, and he has it, as well as prior being a Hollywood Magnet....not to mention his Name sake promotions throughout his business career he had quite the advantage over other candidates going in......thus an "unfair" playing field for the others from the get go.....and the media certainly loved the show and ratings.

....Trumps only offset to that was to claim he was using his own money and spin it to appeal further to the masses...which he did...and it was completely accepted.....while he failed to mention the advantages his wealth and the power of to sue etc. was not something other candidates had available to them. So it's been a lopsided election from the get go......but one the masses have been entertained by as Trump representing his anti-Politician, anti-media positions in full view of the audiences who have basked in his entrails.

There was another who did likewise....and won... much now to many who have discovered they too were tricked....just appears the only difference is the sides but the dynamics are almost identical.

Or we can give up our freedoms and elect Donald Trump who wants to continue the NSA’s abuses on American citizens.

Ted Cruz : TRUSTed and ELECTed, duely ELECTed by the citizens of Texas.

Because : Trust and the Constitution matters.

When Cruz takes an oath on the Bible he knows full well it means more than a symbolic gesture....and who he is responsible to, God and the People and the two are a formidable force!

Comments as that really are just tactics used to attempt to manipulate emotions, Trump uses them all the time so it's not a wonder really that his supporters would as well. Although an occasional “dig” can be entertaining and break an otherwise tense moment in political discussions, a steady stream just gets monotonous and rather boring....." Showmanship and entertainment" is like that....eventually leading to the show being cancelled for lack of an audience.
