Russia has rejected Turkey's claims that it did not know the plane it shot down on the Syria border was Russian.
President Vladimir Putin said Russian planes were easily identifiable and the jet's flight co-ordinates had been passed on to Turkey's ally, the US.
Turkey's president said earlier if it had known the plane was Russian "maybe we would have warned it differently".

Maybe that's what Putin meant when he said they were stabbed in the back.

“The Americans know in advance the timing and location of our operations, and it seems this information was used by Turkey to hit our plane.â€

Turkey will rue the day they stabbed Russia, a former friend in the back, just to pall around with their new best friend ‘President Obama’ the Kenyan. Given the right circumstance, Turkey can quickly end up thrown under the proverbial bus faster that you can say Izmir.

They are just claiming they didn’t know because they are unhappy with the consequences. If they did not know, they would apologize. Period!
As for us knowing the flight ahead of time, it would not surprise me one iota if Obama tried a proxy jab. Completely irresponsible if that is what happened.

As someone else stated it was an ambush. I tend to agree. It takes time to scramble jets and especially for the limited time the jets was in Turkish airspace.

If it was an ongoing thing it wouldn’t be hard. The Russians have never been shy about shooting down aircraft that violated their airspace ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1958_C-130_shootdown_incident ) so I’m not too willing to cut them a lot of slack when it comes back to bite them in the @ss.
“We are ready to cooperate with the coalition which is led by the United States. But of course incidents like the destruction of our aircraft and the deaths of our servicemen... are absolutely unacceptable,” Putin said at a news conference, standing alongside Hollande.
“And we proceed from the position that there will be no repeat of this, otherwise we’ll have no need of cooperation with anybody, any coalition, any country.”
Keep in mind that all this madness is all about the overthrow of Syria. In the beginning...
1) Obama arms local rebels to overthrow Assad.
2) Most of these rebels take the money and the arms and run for the hills.
3) Obama fakes chemical strike to gain political initiative
4) Putin kicks us out of the way and blocks Obama from overthrowing Assad. Then starts bombing the crap out of the rebels we were paying/arming to go after Assad.
5) Obama makes a deal with Turkey to invoke article 5 of the NATO peace-treaty by shooting down a Russian Jetfighter.
6) This puts Putin in check by daring him to retaliate militarily or he will look weak in front of his people.
7) Putin doesn’t take the bait. Instead Putin hits Turkey with a financial attack worth Billions.
8) This now puts Obama in CHECK. Your move Barry!
