On gun control, Newsom seems to be following Bloomberg's strategic lead(assclowns)

Campaign finance records show Everytown last year provided more than $4 million to a successful $11 million campaign in Washington state that widened background checks on gun buyers. By contrast, the NRA and its supporters spent less than $600,000.

Additional support for the Washington initiative came from other foundations and a short list of billionaire donors, including more than $1 million from Napster co-founder Sean Parker.

Similar measures proposed this year in Nevada and Maine suggest more of the same.

Yup. Nevada for sure already has the UBC initiative on the ballot for '16. Help from pro-gun groups will be limited and merely a spit in the bucket compared to the $$$ the anti's will be pumping in here after the first of the year. And by folks who can afford armed security. Because, well after all, they're important. You, not so much.

I wouldn’t bet on Maine passing this background check crap.

The gun-grabbers haven’t gathered enough signatures yet to get this on the ballot and even if they do, it will be an uphill battle for the gun-grabbers to get their so-called universal background checks passed. People in Maine are well-armed.

That being said, the NRA and other pro-second amendment groups really need to spend more money to defeat these moonbats.

P.S.: Constitutional Carry was passed last summer here in Maine and went into effect in October.

The Washington state law is an obscene joke. It hasn’t stifled new gun sales but it has pushed the secondary (used) gun market underground - effectively defeating the stated purpose of the law in the first place.

It has also served to harden hearts and attitudes into a more sharply defined “us vs. them” definition.

Dhimmicrats are EVIL.

I also read a lot of counties are not concerning themselves with this malarky. Time will tell. We’ll do what we can in NV but the promise of a total end to ‘gun violence’ and a total end to all ‘domestic violence’ was what the assclowns sold it on in the petition drive and the the IPOS/LPOS/SPOS/UPOS bought it hook line and sinker. Any thought process involved when hearing the spiel? Uh, no.
