it took me years to figure out that politicians run “for the money”. I once thought their convictions mattered, silly me.

He got very few votes in the primary in Orleans Parish, where believe only in “democracy”.

You’d think Senator go Governor would be a stepdown...except in La. Politicians have lifetime jobs here and they fix their families up with jobs and contracts. Even as we type LLCs are being formed to get all that BP money.

I suspect that New Orleans area and the Florida parishes will go for the Dem. The rest of the state though, with the exception of the Shreveport area will vote heavily for the Rep. North of the Red River is mostly Baptist and country folks; south of the Red is mostly French and Catholic. I sense these voters will respond well and should put Vitter over the top.

We will know soon.
