US Postal Service to host passport fairs around New Mexico
AP/Washington Times ^ | 11/20/15

The U.S. Postal Service will be hosting passport fairs around New Mexico as residents brace for identification requirements to take effect early next year.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently denied New Mexico an extension from tougher federal requirements on state driver’s licenses under the REAL ID Act.

The decision means New Mexico driver’s licenses and IDs won’t be valid for federal purposes such as entering military bases and nuclear research labs starting Jan. 10. As a result, residents are seeking passports as an alternative.

This is a slow motion problem.

Real ID was enacted in 2005, became an issue in 2007, was delayed, and now is moving forward

CALL CONGRESS NOW: 202-224-3121

MESSAGE: We need to hear you loudly opposing bringing Syrian (and other) refugees into our communities.

Americans are through being suckers for foreigners who have no interest in contributing to our nation.

Besides killing us, their intent is to get-rich quich on our tax dollars....sucking off the backs of struggling taxpayers and gorge themselves at the welfare trough.

<><> Demand that Congress suspend all Refugee Resettlement Programs until the Government Accountability Office conducts an audit on the program's cost.

<><>Demand Congress cease tax dollar grants to states to resume refugee resettlement.

<><> Demand Congress throw out the Social Security "asylum" ripoff which enables refugees to pocket hefty monthly SS checks without having paid a dime into the system.

======================================

REFERNCE--NTL REVIEW/BY DAVID HANSON----The Boston Bomber Muslim refugees offer us a teachable moment about what have become near-suicidal US immigration policies not being enforced---that are on the books:

(1) that foreign nationals must at least avoid crime,

(2) stay off public assistance,

(3) that the US is disinclined to grant "asylum" (triggers endless SS checks) to fearful refugees from war-torn Islamic regions,

(4) that force taxpayers to foot the bill for these types to go back and forth between America and their supposedly "hostile Muslim homelands" on the taxpayers' dime.

=================================

NOTE: the entire Tsarnev family collected about $100,000 in public benfits while plotting the bombing....and the family was flown from Chechnya at taxpayer expense to attend the bomber trial.

Texas Clockmed's father traveled to his Muslim homeland at taxpayer expense to run for president. We demand to know if tax dollars paid the family's expenses to settle in Qatar....when they hightailed it out of Texas ...... unwilling to answer questions about their sources of income.

Passport fairs!!??
Passport fairs for RESIDENTS seeking passports as an alternative to drivers license?
But. But. But. Since only American Citizens qualify to get an American passport, I kinda suspect there is something fishy here. Fishy spelled O B A M A Regime.
I think someone needs to check the wood pile.

Last Friday spent 2 hours in the Cedar Crest Post Office applying. They did a great job moving folks through.

The problem is that under Bill Richardson, illegals can get driver’s licenses. Governor Martinez has been trying to get that changed, but the Dims bottle things up in the Senate.

Have you ever applied for a U.S. Passport? The requirements are far more stringent than a quickie driver's license which includes an instant registration to vote Democrat just by checking a couple of boxes.

You have to submit an original birth certificate or naturalization papers. The post office gets a commission on every one they help authenticate. I believe the current rate is $110 per pop. New Mexico residents can think of it as just a small part of the price tag of subsidizing the invasion of illegal aliens. Like the package business, passports represent one of the few positive revenue streams to the post office. So passport fairs make as much sense for them as sidewalk sales do for your discount retailer.

As I said,
I think someone needs to check the wood pile.

Somehow, I suspect the USPS will be using New Mexico drivers license in lieu of a birth certificate. Or maybe they will have the applicant contact, “Jimmy down the hall” who created Comrade Barack’s birth certificate.
Something smell fishy and it ain’t fish.

A state driver’s license is not considered identification for the purposes of getting a U.S. Passport. But, who know, under this regime of making up rules as you go along?

Identification, including a copy, is required to prove U.S. citizenship, such as:

Previously issued, undamaged U.S. passport
Certified birth certificate issued by the city, county, or state (Hospital-issued birth certificates are not acceptable)*
Consular report of birth abroad or birth certificate
Naturalization certificate
Certificate of citizenship

In addition, one current ID is required, such as:

Naturalization certificate
Valid driver’s license
Current government ID (city, state or federal)
Current military ID (military and dependents)

* Certified means no photocopies; must be an original with the government seal which is an additional cost in time and money if you don’t have it already.

And one more thing, unless the legislature comes up with an acceptable fix in January, NM airline travelers will need a passport to enter or leave New Mexico as later this year TSA will not accept a NM Driver’s License as acceptable ID

Only those who live in New Mexico know that a good number of US citizens are geographically illiterate. For years, residents have been challenged when ordering goods by phone, communicating online, or in person at restaurants or stores out of state. When one identifies they are from New Mexico, the response often is “we do not ship international”, or “there will be an extra charge,” or simply “how far do you live from Mexico City?”

Now, unless the legislature changes it, that perception will be greatly magnified as the only identification to leave or travel by airline from the state will be a passport.

For a good laugh (or expression of disbelief), check out the stories at this website:
