U.S. Rep. Lynch suspects refugee vetting system lacking

The White House assured U.S. governors yesterday that Syrian refugees undergo “rigorous screening and security vetting” even as a Bay State congressman and an immigration attorney said the system is dangerously flawed.

The call with 34 governors left some asking for “further communication” with Obama administration staffers to “respond to questions from the public,” a White House readout of the session stated.

But U.S. Rep. Stephen F. Lynch told the Herald the refugee screening system is lacking and he’s going to refugee camps “very soon” to see what can be fixed.

“I suspect we don’t have a uniform or robust system for vetting,” said Lynch, the ranking Democrat on the National Security Subcommittee. “It would hurt us enormously

Marisa DeFranco, an immigration attorney and former Democratic U.S. Senate and House candidate, said the screening of migrants is a mess.

“They have nothing to check these refugees against. There’s no database to which to check them. It’s complete chaos,” DeFranco said in a Boston Herald Radio interview. “(They’ll say), ‘Look at how long they’re taking, the length we’re taking must mean we’re doing a really hard and diligent job.’ That is just total baloney.”

A top refugee relocation official also said once the Syrian immigrants do arrive, they are not tracked. He added that won’t stop them from welcoming them in.

Uh, understatement of the day? Maybe she can check the computers stored in garages in the area to see if there is a data base that we could use to ‘vet’ the refugees. Prolly not.

Seems like just yesterday, Senator Peter King said the government doesn’t have a vetting system...mind you, I usually don’t pay attention to King, he has come out with some pretty stupid things, but on this one, I think he’s right....

#refugees welcome at the Rainbow Hut...hashtag....

Seriously lacking? Heck Obama lost track of the “youths” from Honduras that he took in. They were supposed to report in but most did not. Getting “lost” would be child's play for ISIS and the result catastrophic.

I’m a little worried about my wife’s adoption of the ideas of modern technology. She wants to go elsewhere but if that doesn’t work, she’s in favor of planting a chip with a small explosive charge in their head that would go off if they deviated from the straight and narrow. She would also do this to philandering husbands.

Problems ‘may’ exist?

These are the same jerks who, TO THIS DAY, cannot tell us HOW MANY undocumented Mexicans, etc. arrived (from over the last few decades, alone),cannot tell us where they are or even WHO they are... but want to assure us they can account for all the Syrian refugees? Really??

To gain entry into the United States as a refugee, a person must wait it out in a refugee camp abroad for a minimum of six months and upwards of two years. The person or family is screened for health, connections, investigated, etc.

There is no vetting. Just this past weekend, “refugees from Syria” landed in New Orleans, even as the administration is claiming the clearance process takes upwards of 18 months.
How did they make it so quickly?

Interesting. I thought the script was

Standard vetting: "You're not a terrorist, are you?"
Rigorous vetting: "Are you a terrorist?"
