Carson is masterful at feel-good pep talks and lay preaching, and that's about his limit. Serious matters of policy seem too much for him, especially when dealing with specifics and details. He chokes and gives rambling, barely coherent non-answers whenever he's asked a question dealing with economic, geopolitics, or pretty much anything else.

Carson belongs in a revival tent, not in the White House. I think that some of his supporters are starting to realize that their emperor has no clothes, so we'll see his poll numbers drop from 20's to teens and then back down to single digits in no time.
