Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday the West had to drop its demands about the political exit of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad if it wanted a genuinely international coalition against Islamic State militants.

Lavrov, who said there was still no agreement about Assad's political fate after international talks in Vienna, said he had detected a change in the West's position since the Paris attacks and the bombing of a Russian passenger plane.

That doesn’t fit with Obama’s plans for a radical islamist sect in charge of Syria.

Obama says Putin a ‘constructive partner’ in Syria talks

“In their initial military incursion into Syria, they have been more focused on propping up President Assad,” Obama said.

“If, in fact, he shifts his focus and the focus of his military, to what is the principle threat, which is ISIL, then that is what we want to see,” Obama said using another acronym for the group.

“We are going to wait and see whether Russia does end up paying more attention to ISIL targets. If it does so, that’s something we welcome.”

Trying to topple Assad was a loser idea from the start.

The Obastard has created mayhem with his so-called Arab Spring, and he has made the entire world more dangerous.

Russia is right on this one: If the goal is to eliminate ISIS in full, the interested nations need to concentrate on that goal and that goal alone.

And let’s face it: Russia is not going to let Assad fall.

All I know is that we seem fixated on getting rid of anyone who doesn’t seem to concentrate on killing Christians and Jews.

Assad is a tin-horn, despot dictator with a horrible civil rights and human rights record in his country. He often kills his political opponents with impunity. This all puts him somewhere near the median of third-world dictators or even Middle-East dictators on this earth. Why Obama and Hillary have singled him out among all the others for removal is beyond me.

I rarely side with Russia on anything, but I'm with them on this one. It seems, too, that the longer Obama lasts as our third-world dictator, the more I have been siding with Russia.

Our UN ambassador made it clear that she wants to invade Israel to “protect” the paleostinians.

“Russia, which views Syria as its closest Middle East ally, has long been at odds with the West over Assad’s future with Moscow saying only the Syrian people should decide if he steps down.”

Exactly. Obama’s and Hillary’s manipulated coups have been total failures.

"Why Obama and Hillary have singled him out among all the others for removal is beyond me."

This is especially puzzling given that the people they have chosen to fight against him, and presumedly replace him, are even more violent, vicious and repressive than he is.

Trying to topple Assad was a loser idea from the start.

But that is what the muzzie brotherhood wanted their pal obama to do. They wanted to overthrow Libya. They got it. They wanted to take over Egypt and obama supported them. Fortunately they failed in Egypt. The reason obama wanted Assad overthrown is because it is because the muzzie brotherhood wanted it.

Hollande calls on world to put aside national interest, fight Islamic State

PARIS, Nov 18 (Reuters) - French President Francois Hollande called on the international community on Wednesday to set aside their sometimes diverging national interests and join a grand coalition against hardline militant group Islamic State.

“We must form a vast coalition, to hit Daesh decisively,” Hollande told an assembly of city mayors using the Arabic acronym for Islamic State.

“The international community must rally around that spirit. I know very well that each country doesn’t have the same interests,” he added.

Putin is going to get everything he wants in the next 13 months.

He is riding high approval ratings at home and abroad. He is drawing new allies to his side while America loses them. He is a man of action while Obama is a man of nuance. He wrestles bears bare chested while Obama rides a bike in mom jeans.

Kidding aside, America is losing and the world is re-positioning itself. America is an uncertain ally at best. France and Germany are being drawn into the Russian orbit. They are the big dogs of Europe and will take the rest of Europe with them.

If this continues, you will see long time American allies moving towards Russia. As it is now the US can count on the Anglosphere nations and a few countries in Asia. I don't know how long even this will last.

Meanwhile in the States the high school stadiums will be full on Friday, the college stadiums will sell out on Saturday and the NFL will do a huge box office on Sunday. The world is slipping away and nobody cares.

McCain Slams Overseas Coverage, Requires Coalition to ‘Take Out ISIS’

November 17, 2015

“What we want is about ten thousand [troops] and a coalition of Arab countries, including probably the French now... where we can go in and take ISIS. They are not ten feet tall. We can defeat them if we do the right thing but airpower alone won’t do it.”

(snip)

“For years we have sought a no-fly zone, a place where refugees could have sanctuary - we could train and equip moderate forces where we could protect innocent civilians from this horrific barrel bombing. Remember its Bashar al-Assad that’s killed 240 thousand of his people... that has caused to a large degree these millions of refugees. Then we get a coalition force composed of mostly Arab… hopefully some European countries, about 10,000 of ours... go in with the use of American airpower and we can take them out,” he said.

(snip)

“I think that our values and what we want are directly contradictory to that of Russia. What Vladimir Putin wants... reinserting Russia into the Middle East... protect his base that the Russians have there on the Mediterranean and of course prop up Bashar al-Assad or a stooge that would replace Bashar al-Assad. We must get rid of Bashar al-Assad... He is an evil man... It can come to no good if we get in bed with Vladimir Putin,” he said.

Looks like Russia is telling our toddler POTUS “ no” and sticking to it

A very dangerous move given his instability and willingness to punish anyone who sets him off even American citizens and even to death

But way overdue

I wish Lavrov was Speaker of the House
