FORT DODGE, IOWA – Billionaire candidate Donald Trump raised further questions about Dr. Ben Carson's biography and character, questioning the story about the doctor attempting to stab one of his friends when he was young.

In the course of a rally here, Trump questioned Carson's story that his friend's belt buckle stopped the knife, causing it to break.

So now Trump is an expert in how people convert to Christianity. Interesting development.
"I may leave here and you may say, ‘Oh that's not nice what he said,'" he admitted. "Who cares? Then, you know, I go back to my life, I don't have to do interviews, which I don't like doing to be honest with you."
Is Trump planning an exit? Surely not. He's still leading in many polls. He thinks Carson says some really curious things?

“He goes into the bathroom for a couple of hours and he comes out and now he’s religious?” he said. “Give me a break … It doesn’t happen that way.”

I agree with Trump here. Carson’s stories don’t add up.

If Trump goes I think Cruz would benefit most. If Cruz is the nominee watch the Dems use the natural born citizen against him.

Trump has common sense. If something sounds unbelievable, it probably is. Trump is only saying out loud what anyone with average intelligence is thinking. Carson has a ton of baggage it is going to get a lot worse than this.

Whether or not we think it adds up or not, it’s Carson’s testimony, and attacking him in this fashion isn’t the script that got him to where he is.

Trump rarely attends a PCUSA church in Queens.

That’s his Christian pedigree, as I know it, and I’m a Trump supporter.

That will be it if he gets any where near winning.

They can't. Xero's father was a British subject. They would be attacking Cruz by the same criterion.

Trump is right. I know you Jeb fans (your name Tennessean4Bush) do not understand this.

Saying your “pathological” was a disaster by Carson.

I think Trump is making a big mistake with the attacks on Carson. Carson is perfectly frank about his thoughts, some of which IMO are fairly goofy even if he has apparently rational thought behind them. But I think people can make their own decisions and come to their own conclusions without any sort of prodding by Trumps’ taunts. If that is so, it does little or no good to rag on Carson. IMO it makes Trump look very petty.

We know that Carson has little appeal to many/most Blacks folks. It is sad to think that, but I believe it is a true truth. Maybe Trump thinks “the enemy of my enemy” is a valid approach. I will grant that Trump probably has much smarter people advising him than I. I just think this a wrongheaded approach. Trump is reacting to poll numbers that show Carson climbing, but I very very seriously doubt Carson will make it to the finish line as the nominee. Hence there is no need to trash him. I frankly think Trump would gain more from praising Carson.

Is that you Karl?

Trump attacked Bush, Kasich and Fiorina the same way and they all went down. Gentle Ben is next.

I think you’re right on both counts there but specifically if Trump implodes (which I think unlikely since his “base” has proven time and time again there is nothing he could say that would offend them) but if he does by some bizzare event then Carson will take Iowa. Which means nothing really except a momentum gain. But if anything the winner of Iowa will definitely NOT be president. They haven’t chosen correctly in literally a decade.

Trump has said many good things but he needs to learn when to SHUT up, Carson’s conversion is none of his business.

I disagree but then I believe in a miraculous God.

I believe it is better to speak out on policy then it is to launch personal attacks. Frankly, some of Carson's policy stances are very attackable and I disagree with them. It's not necessary to destroy someone on a personal level.

Trump is attacking his primary opponent, which is what I want in a candidate. I don’t want a Christie who hugs these creep Obama and I don’t want a Romney who refused to throw the knock out debate punch, and I don’t want an insider who wants to go along to get along.

I’m starting to think that Trump knows Carson is a pathological liar and doesn’t want to hit it head on. It’s not impossible that Carson is a premier surgeon and pathological liar.

What made me think this is the story of getting a phone call in the OR that his wages were going to be attached. #1 they wouldn’t call him in the OR for that #2 no responsible HR or legal person would discuss issues that have that level of privacy on the phone.

I agree with Trump here. Carson's stories don't add up.
The only time Trump opens his mouth it's to change feet. This is an example of precisely why many on the Republican side of things don't support Trump. His comments here are ludicrous for a candidate to be uttering on stage or in an interview.

If Trump gets the nomination, I will surely vote for him. But the statement Trump makes where he sounds like he's thinking about getting out of the race is crazy for someone in his position to say.

You Jeb fans need to quit letting the Establishment media lead you around by your nose.

That's why Jeb’s numbers are in the toilet.

And I don’t want a candidate that attacks like Obama using contempt and insult.
