Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida said Thursday that while some illegal immigrants will have to be deported, it's unrealistic to think it can happen for all of the approximately 11 million in the United States.
Mr. Rubio was asked if he would accept or denounce 2016 GOP presidential rival Donald Trump's tough deportation plan, and the Florida senator said both sides have valid points to make.
"We are going to have to deport some people - otherwise, if you're not going to enforce your laws, what's the point of having those laws?" Mr. Rubio said on Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "Criminals are going to be deported. People that haven't been here very long are going to be deported. People overstaying visas are going to be deported - that's how you enforce immigration laws.
"The flip side of it is I do not believe you can round up and deport 11 million, especially people that have been here 15 years, have not otherwise violated the laws, can pass background checks and so forth," he continued.
Host Bill Hemmer said it sounded a little like Mr. Rubio was "trying to ride the middle line here."

Unrealistic likelihood that people with Rubio’s belief system last five minutes in public life after Europe falls.
Enforce the law with employers. Threaten to prosecute those hiring illegals under the table by paying them in cash. Build the wall. Millions will leave. Because they will be off welfare, I would be willing to give them a couple grand for moving expenses and bid them a fond adios. And, of course, we chip them so they cannot come back in.
I have paid tenants to leave rather than fight a long battle that would actually cost more money.

That’s why you shut off the magnet, end all their benefits, make it illegal to hire them, and start deporting them one by one so that they get the message that there is no point in coming here or staying here.

But you know what else, Marky, if we decide that we are going to round up 30-40 million illegal aliens and deport them for breaking our laws, then that’s what we will do, just like we round up and arrest drug dealers for breaking our laws, regardless of their families.

Exactly! As was pointed out at the debate, 40% of those here illegally are visa overstays. So all this BS about all of them getting their day in court is just that. So let’s just start with overstays and those who are already under a deportation order. This boogieman that we are going to go door to door and round people up is just a scare tactic. If we got only half of them, it would be a start.
The amnesty crowd keeps saying this as if this is a proposed plan. Cut off the free candy, hold employers accountable for blatant abuses of the law and the illegals will leave. Improve screening for legal immigrants. That’s the plan. It’s entirely realistic, which is why the left is afraid.
Stop all access to the dole for any family who does not have a least one citizen family and they will come far less often.
If you stiffened/enforced laws re: employing illegals, the money would dry up and they would leave.
This is not a mystery.
