Residents who feel that the murder spree might have been limited or stopped entirely beforehand are now calling for Colorado Springs to pass an ordinance banning open carry like the one in Denver, but so, far the Mayor is refusing to let an emotional reaction to a single incident overrule good judgement:

Who’s to say the shooting wasn’t staged, encouraged, or at least setup by unseen external influences because there was about to be a vote on the issue? Hell withthe liberal DemonRats in office who worship at the altar of Satan anything’s possible.

Colorado Springs is one of the most gun-loving places on the planet. John Suthers our new mayor witnessed the recalls of two state senators who over reached on gun limits. It would be political suicide to listen to a few liberal weenies and ignore the rest of the population. Terry Maketa, former sheriff of El Paso County, before he thought he was above the law and began misbehaving, once commented that he was happy to issue concealed carry permits so that the criminals would stay in Denver where they knew their victims were unarmed.

Thanks for the link, even though it isn’t set up properly, I did find the webpage informative.

Struthers is Mayor?

Open carry will be the law as long as he is in office, and he always struck me as a good, straight guy.

He was the first public person I know who said the AIDs epidemic was over, back in the 80’s IIRC, and he got a lot of heat over that. But he stuck with it until the public got caught up with the facts.
